The final is on Sunday.

I quoted the word final which meant that I wasn't talking about the final rather what I considered to be the final. This was a correct usage of word quotation, by the way. Most of the people use quote illogically and incorrectly. But I digress. Whoever wins between Spain vs. Germany (the psychic octopus says Spain is set to win) will be the champions. Neither Uruguay nor the Netherlands have the wits and endurance to best Spain or Germany.

But take heart, German fans. The octopus was wrong 20% of the time during the European championship. Tomorrow our inky friend will be proven wrong by the brilliances of Ozil, Klose, Schweinsteiger.

I read about Paul's prediction this morning. Didn't make me happy. On the other hand, this "psychic" octopus is entertainment and not much more.

Not sure why a pizzing match between Lahm and Ballack had to go public now on whether Lahm should retain the captain position past the World Cup. While I tend to agree with Lahm on having a valid claim on the role, that's not the debate they need right now. They need to focus on bringing home the title. And I, for one, still believe they will. That Octopus be damned - or grilled if he happens to be right...

Whoever wins between Spain vs. Germany (the psychic octopus says Spain is set to win) will be the champions. Neither Uruguay nor the Netherlands have the wits and endurance to best Spain or Germany.

Uruguay doesn't have it in them to fetch the title should they get past The Netherlands today which is rather unlikely. The Netherlands, on the other hand, cannot be counted out in the final regardless of which remaining team they will face.

I just hope the young German team keeps it together and continues to play the fast and intelligent game they've put on against England and Argentina. If they do that, they'll be unstoppable.

Nah....they didn't have any other source than "BILD"??? I have stopped believing anything they write about .... ummmm.....when I learned to read (not really lol...when I learned to read my country was still called "East Germany" haha). What I meant to say is that Bild isn't really THAT reliable and they like to blow things out of proportion.

I have stopped believing anything they write about .... ummmm.....when I learned to read (not really lol...when I learned to read my country was still called "East Germany" haha). What I meant to say is that Bild isn't really THAT reliable and they like to blow things out of proportion.

Paul doesn't have a perfect prediction record. Read in the Telegraph that he's got his last Germany v Spain prediction wrong in 2008. So, let's just say that he makes a bad pick whenever Germany and Spain face off.

In all his years of making predictions, the only one Paul has ever got wrong was the Spain v Germany final at Euro 2008.

The octopus opted for Germany but Spain were the victors, winning 1-0.

German fans are now hoping the opposite will happen and by picking Spain to win it will actually be Germany who come out on top.

Yep and Uruguay just equalized. What a shot from Forlan. The Netherlands are still going to win this. After all, Uruguay only cheated it's way to this round.

An Uruguay defender stopped a sure goal with a blatant hand ball. Ghana however failed to convert the PK.
