<P class=first>Fifa president Sepp Blatter has apologised to the Football Association over Frank Lampard's disallowed goal in England's World Cup defeat by Germany. Lampard was denied a goal in Sunday's 4-1 defeat, even though his shot clearly crossed the line.

He said the debate on goal-line technology would be reopened when the International FA Board meets in July.

Blatter also said sorry to Mexico after Argentina's Carlos Tevez scored from an offside position in their last 16 game.

Lampard's strike came during a spell of England dominance and would have levelled the score at 2-2.

"It is obvious that after the experiences so far at this World Cup it would be a nonsense not to re-open the file on goal-line technology," said Blatter.

I think EVERYBODY so far has said that the ball was in and ENgland deserved that goal. It was an unfortunate, wrong decision.

well, karma is a b!tch. Of course this had to happen in an England-Germany game, but now we're even for the 1966 goal that wasn't a goal. Besides, it didn't make a difference. But I do agree, this was clearly a goal and should have counted.

THat goal would have mattered. England clearly had the momentum and that goal would have leveled the score at 2-2. Hard to say that it would't have skewed the results.
