This may be an obvious, but I have found conflicting information on the websites and need some clarification…

We filed I-130 today to start my US immigration. I know that shortly we will need my police clearances (name checks).

I have lived in Vancouver and Toronto (Canada), and Oregon in the US (on a student visa for high school only).

DO I NEED A POLICE CLEARANCE LETTER OR CHECK FROM BOTH VANCOUVER AND TORONTO? THERE SEEMS TO BE NO WAY TO DO THIS WITHOUT FLYING TO TORONTO (I LIVE IN VANCOUVER AND WOULD BE EASIER TO JUST HAVE TO GET ONE FOR THE ENTIRETY OF CANADA).

I READ THAT POLICE CERTS ARE REQUIRED FROM EVERY LOCALITY THAT YOU LIVED IN WITHIN A COUNTRY.

DO I NEED CLEARANCE FROM OREGON? I READ THAT I DO NOT NEED US CLEARANCE SINCE I AM IMMIGRATING TO THE US.

Thank you!!

Hi,

The Canadian police certificate question was answered in your other thread.

No, you do not need a U.S. police clearance.

Just so you know, although you live in Vancouver, you will still have your interview in Montreal.
