Police Certs from multiple provinces lived in Canada?

This may be an obvious, but I have found conflicting information on the websites and need some clarification…

We filed I-130 today to start my US immigration. I know that shortly we will need my police clearances (name checks).

I have lived in Vancouver and Toronto (Canada), and Oregon in the US (on a student visa for high school only).

DO I NEED A POLICE CLEARANCE LETTER OR CHECK FROM BOTH VANCOUVER AND TORONTO? THERE SEEMS TO BE NO WAY TO DO THIS WITHOUT FLYING TO TORONTO (I LIVE IN VANCOUVER AND WOULD BE EASIER TO JUST HAVE TO GET ONE FOR THE ENTIRETY OF CANADA).

I READ THAT POLICE CERTS ARE REQUIRED FROM EVERY LOCALITY THAT YOU LIVED IN WITHIN A COUNTRY.

DO I NEED CLEARANCE FROM OREGON? I READ THAT I DO NOT NEED US CLEARANCE SINCE I AM IMMIGRATING TO THE US.

Thank you!!

You only need one from Canada. Just make sure it notes that Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) or the national criminal records repository was searched using your name and date of birth. You do not need one from the US. Good luck!

Hey,

When you'll ask for a police background check in Vancouver, the letter will specify that nothing came up for a person of that name and of that date of birth in ALL of Canada.

That's what mine said anyways...

Good luck
