My wife and I are in the middle of the CR-1 visa process. I live in the US and she lives in Thailand. I was wondering if she would be able to get married in Thailand to someone else while we are still married. Also, would she be able to leave her country at all, or apply for another visa?

If she got divorced, absolutely !

At some point, someone will withdraw the current petition and/or current visa application. If the casefile has gotten to NVC, she can send a letter to withdraw the visa application.

If she's not divorced from YOU, and does what yer asking about - then she is committing visa fraud - and you might want to protect yerself somehow, to notify DOS and US Emassy Thailand about this. The other petitioner will also be committing (knowingly or unknowiningly) fraud as well. At some point, during the namechecks on all 3 of you, she'll pop up as a bigamist, without any proof of divorce from you, and then it will get sticky.

Good Luck To You, however it turns out !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

The answers given here are supposed to be correct & related to your question.

The question IS can she marry another person while she is leaglly married to you. The answer is no.

Your wife could file for divorce but to have the divorce be legal you would have to sign the divorce papers. If you refused to do so she could have a lawyer file the divorce. The court would send the papers to you for signature. If you refuse to sign they court will grant the divorce.

Thais need visas to leave. If she had one she could leave. She can apply for a visa at any time.

Thais do NOT need visas to visit other ASEAN countries. Malaysia, Singapore etc.

From your sketchy post the responders will have to assume a lot, namely what your intentions are and what you think she may do.

You don't have to spill all the beans, but a bit more info would be good.
