Hello, this is my first post on this website. Here is my situation. My wife came here on a K1 last year and she got her greencard this year. We have one child together born May 30th. I am losing my job next week and have secured new employment for a very low wage (18K). This is the best I can do at this time. I am thinking about applying for FOOD STAMPS. I have done the calculations (have not included wife) have included previous children and our new child. We clearly will qualify and they are needed. The question is, how will this affect our citizen interviews in the future. Will they ask if I was ever on public assistance? Will we be denied? I don't know exactly what the next step is but I do know we were approved on the Interview for AOS (I-485 approval)about 6 months ago.

Thank you,

JJiang

If she is not included in the calculations, you are fine.

Our journey together on this earth has come to an end.

I will see you one day again, my love.
