I see yours took about 5 months to approve. I guess that could be areal possibility.

OBX is correct, MattyDil! Our I-130 approval in 2008 took 3.5 months in VSC. Normal is 4 to 6 months time. You have to worry only if it exceeds more than 6 months.

So the Montreal Embassy is REALLY slow at assigning interview dates?

Oh yeah! Sorry...shouldn't have burdened you with that while you are still waiting for your NOA2.

Have a look at the data in this thread. It tracks the wait times for Montreal interviews. You are looking at around 2-3 months minimum after NVC completion. I know that sounds horrible but it's better than the 4-5 from last fall!

You'll find a lot of support and fellow filers to commiserate with in the Canada forum.

Hi I was wondering how long is the average time everyone has had to wait for the approval of their I-130. Its been exactly 2 months today. And when i look at other peoples similar time lines they have already received approvals of their I-1130. Mine is still in the Initial review. I am just wondering if this is normal, the amount of time thus far waiting for just this beginning step. If it is than no worries, I am just worried based off trends I've seen with other similar time lines.

CAN ANYONE PLS HELP ME; I AM FROM LIBERIA MARRIED TO USA CITIZEN AND SHE FILED IN FOR ME SINCE THE 25TH OF JUNE 2012 BUT UP TO NOW, MY PAPER IS STILL UNDER INITIAL REVIEW SO I AM IN DILEMA B'COS I DON'T KNOW THE EXACT TIME FRAME FOR DECISION TO BE TAKEN ON MY PAPER. MY WIFE AND I HAVE WAITED FOR 7 MONTHS NOW FOR APPROVAL AND THERE IS NO SIGN. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO NEXT SO I NEED A HELP PLEASE ANYONE.
