Intial I-130 Approval

Hi I was wondering how long is the average time everyone has had to wait for the approval of their I-130. Its been exactly 2 months today. And when i look at other peoples similar time lines they have already received approvals of their I-1130. Mine is still in the Initial review. I am just wondering if this is normal, the amount of time thus far waiting for just this beginning step. If it is than no worries, I am just worried based off trends I've seen with other similar time lines.

It seems like lately the average wait between NOA1 and NOA2 has been about 96 days. Many are under "initial Review". It seems that approvals have slowed to a crawl after April. March 1st filer are slowly getting approvals now. Maybe they are adjusting to the new system that killed the K3 process

I see that would make sense when I look at people who filed only a few weeks before me they are receiving their NOA2 so much faster. It's a bit disheartening. But we all have a waiting period.

Yeah I know what you mean.. But some of them may be Direct Consular Filing, or other circumstances that doesn't apply to most of us. It's a tough wait, but time goes by and every morning is a day closer.

I got touched the middle of last month and haven't heard a word since. Actually they are not approving petitions past my NOA1 date. I am a bit confused. in the 120+ days mark.

You can register your case number on the USCIS site, USCIS Case Status, then if you see a new date when your fie has been accessed that constitutes a "touch". Good luck!

Thanks for quick response I did register my case But I am not seeing where a date would be changed. Only line I see a date is where it says the date they first received my file.

If that date hasn't changed then your case hasn't been touched. Don't put too much stock into "touches", we didn't get a touch until our case was approved!

Hopefully yours will come sooner because you still have the long wait for an interview in Montreal to endure! Our case went through last year when VSC was particularly slow; a bunch of fellow filers were transferred to CSC and we had our NOA2 a month later. Waiting for the NOA2 is a drag but NVC is a fast ride. Good luck!
