Arizona gov. signs bill targeting schools' ethnic studies

State schools chief Tom Horne, who has pushed the bill for years, said he believes the Tucson school district's Mexican-American studies program teaches Latino students that they are oppressed by white people.

Public schools should not be encouraging students to resent a particular race, he said.

"It's just like the old South, and it's long past time that we prohibited it," Horne said

Jesus Homer Christ! The more I learn about some politicians the more I realise they are little children perpetually involved in, what appears to be, pointless school-yard feud. Arizonians lead the back. I'm waiting when they'll censor gender studies, religious studies, or any studies that doesn't agree with the party that's in office at the moment. Is that day very far now?

Ironically, as we grow as a whole and have access to more knowledge, we should have been able to take up any studies as we want. But instead, the closer we grow the more tension we create. Good going, humanity. (sarcasm)
