Afghanistan did not erect the statues. They were already there. They are a historical and religious site that was IMPORTANT to many people.

I am not in prison... have never even been arrested but I am not free to leave. I have children here and the laws of this country (as would the laws of many other countries) prevents me from leaving the country with them (even for vacation) without a passport which they can't have without their dad's signature. It was the pagan arabs decision to revert to Islam, if they have no problem with it, and don't care, more power to them... but this is not a good example to use... because we are talking about a current situation where an entire religion that STILL exists was violated.
