VP, I have a question again. Please don't think I am "piling on" because I am truly curious. What little I understand of the Shuria way of Islam I have been led to believe that women cannot socialize with non-relative men. Does that extend to online chats and forums like this? If it does not are you violating the Shuria laws chatting here? Or do they allow it because you are not in person with the men?

I do not socialze in private with non-related men.

Out of curiosity, which form of sharia government do you accept? The civil, criminal or both?

The sharia is the laws of God... it's not a 'government'. I don't pick and choose which laws of God I'd like to follow and leave others.... I accept all the laws God laid down for His servants. (F)

So do you agree with the judicial punishments meted out under Sharia law for (among other things) adultery and homosexuality?

The expression of smiley faces and sad faces through internet chatting falls in the category of drawing pictures of animate objects which is prohibited. As an alternative, one may express his/her happiness and sadness in words.

If the picture was brought to life it would not be able to live... it's not a complete pic... it's just a smiley :P

thats some hysterical logic right there

you're going to hell too! and me also since i'm a muslim! (vp said so) :P

One online scholar does not fit all.

 agreed

It should also be noted that even salafi scholars do not always agree about little things.... it's their call to follow the Quran and Sunnah the way the companions understood it that unites them as salafi....

An example would be that most salafi scholars say that it's haraam for a woman to uncover her face around unrelated men while shakhal Albanee says it's not.... each have their own proof from the Sunnah to support their opinions. I take shakhal Albanee's opinion because he was a great scholar of ahadeeth and he says the ahadeeth the others based their opinions on were weak and refers us back to the hadeeth about Asmaa where the prophet told her nothing but her face and hands should show after puberty.... he didn't tell her to cover them but he allowed her to show those parts.

This is just one thing they disagree on... for me I take from the one who has the better proof (or makes more sense to me).

I never said you are a muslim. I said every baby is born in that state.... what you have decided for yourself is of your own free will... God doesn't make you believe in Him.

oh well i believe i'm muslim. :P

now get back in the kitchen woman!

Would that be a yes or a no? Just curious

No need to ask questions you already know the answer to. ;)

True, I'm just wondering how someone can claim that they don't 'support' the Taliban, when they support significant aspects of what they represent. What is the difference?

Well, I suppose it's a question of ideology vs. methods. For example, there are plenty who support what Hezbollah stands for, even if they don't support their "terrorist" tactics.

Dude, she said she agrees with Gods laws in their entirety. Sharia is pretty clear on what the punishments for adultery and fruitcakery are. Why would you think she doesn't agree?

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.
