Lost old passport with F-1 visa + I-94 in it

I've been trying to see if anybody had a similar problem in the past but couldn't find anything..

So I've been here in the US as an F-1 student for a while. Last time I entered the US was in 2003.

F-1 visa expired in 2004 but I am still in school up to currently.

A while back I lost my old (expired) passport along with my F-1 visa and my I-94 in it.

I have copies of everything (except the back of the I-94) and I recently filed for AOS.

I just received and responded to an RFE asking me to prove legal entry into US. I sent them copies of visa, I-94, and all my I-20s.

My questions are:

1)will they want to see the original when/if I have my interview?

I just found out from a couple people here that you can file a replacement for I-94

My problem with that is: when I last entered in 2003 I was actually inspected in Toronto eventually the actual US city I went to was St. Louis, MO.

2)So, what do I enter for place of last admission?

Also, I know that the only way to replace a visa is to leave the country and get a new one - which is not an option because I can't leave the country right now.

3)How much of a problem will all this missing documents be on the RFE specifically and the AOS process in general?

By the way, in addition to having copies of everything that is missing, I also have a boarding pass with an entry stamp (original, not copy).

My old I-20 also has an entry stamp (I have the original too)

So.. verdict? words of advice? (sorry this is kinda long and sorry if it's unclear)

Thanks in advance!!

I have a similar problem-my husband does :)).What i did(just today)-i sent I-102 replacement for his I-94.If it's lost they will ask for copy of I-94,copy of your passport(the old one) and copy of your visa,if it's stolen they will ask for police report. As far as i know they will ask you for sure at the interview for your I-94.

Hi hapy wife, thanks so much for your reply! Sorry.. it took me a while to figure out how to find my own thread after it got bumped back by new ones..

I just mailed out my I-102 today! Hope it won't take too long. How long ago did you file replacement for your husband? Has it arrived yet? I can't tell where you are in your AOS process (no timeline :P)

Are you guys close to interview time? I just don't know if I will have a replacement in time.

Hi engineer21!I mailed out his I-102 on 06/09/2010,so i am still waiting for replay.I filled AOS on the same date and i got already acceptance confirmation. We still waiting for acceptance confirmation for his I-102.I've been reading that the whole process for replacement takes 3 months.I am not worry about that because ones i receive official receipt notice from them i think i will be ok at the interviiew.I asked a lower about that and he said won't be a problem-i really hope so.

OK, Thanks for clarifying your timeline :)

That's what I'm planning to do too.. just bring the i-102 receipt/NOA to the interview if I don't have I-94 in hand.

Yeah... hope the lawyer you talked to is right and we'll be OK.

Good luck to both of us :D
