Atlanta Interview and Oath June 9th 2010

I AM A US CITIZEN....

My interview was scheduled for 8:15 am, I was called at 8:40am. Read: Who lives in the white house. Write: The president lives in the white house.

Questions:

Where is the stat of liberty, governor of state, 2 holidays, first president, one promise when you come citizen, what did martin luther king do

Done by 9:10, allowed to change photos I submitted (have lost weight, being vain haha), asked to wait for decision to be made

Called again at 9:45 am, an oath at 2 pm would I like to attend. YES YES YES.

1:30 begin entering ceremony room, 133 new citizens, 59 countries represented.

Ceremony start at 2:20pm, national anthem, pledge, oath, video message from President Obama, video message from fellow immigrants, video of song God bless the US.

Done at 3pm

Thanks for sharing your story. By the way, don't go tomorrow to SS office as the systems will not have updated yet and they will ask you to return again after a week or so....

Actually, do try going to the SSA office tomorrow. While your information won't be updated yet, you will have your certificate with you. They will take a photocopy of it, return it to you, and then when the information is updated with USCIS they will be able to process the card and send you a new one. That is what I did and I got the new card in about 2 weeks. That way, you are able to go and apply for your US passport right away because you do need to send off your Citizenship document for the passport and it may take a month of so to be returned.

Actually, do try going to the SSA office tomorrow. While your information won't be updated yet, you will have your certificate with you. They will take a photocopy of it, return it to you, and then when the information is updated with USCIS they will be able to process the card and send you a new one. That is what I did and I got the new card in about 2 weeks. That way, you are able to go and apply for your US passport right away because you do need to send off your Citizenship document for the passport and it may take a month of so to be returned.
