'gratz on the playoffs, ladies.

Nick is officially sitting himself up now. He started several days ago, and now it's becoming more frequent. Still not crawling. I think he may be one of those babies who skip crawling altogether. He rocks back and forth on his hands and knees, but hasn't mastered the arm movements yet. He'll start 'crawling' with his legs, but his arms stay put. Then when that doesn't work, he gets on his feet and 'walks'.

But by that time, he's given up on moving his arms, his head is firmly on the floor (mattress, pnp, whatever), and he's 'walking' with his legs, but his face is on the floor.

Gah, am I even describing this right????

He's just figuring it out! Em is not really properly crawling either - just an 'army crawl' (one leg, both arms propelling her forward). Believe me, when he wants to get around, he will!!! LOL

What weight measurements would my British husband understand? When we get the e-mails to our joint account saying the baby has reached 1.5 pounds and 13.5 inches and such it seems to go right over him. Maybe because he's a bloke?

BTW, this kiddo goes crazy when he or she hears me and my husband talk, especially my husband!

Our VisaJourney started July 2009 when I mailed the 129-F

Fiance here February 2010, married 10 days later

GC received in the mail 10-Jun-2010

Able to apply to remove conditions 12-Feb-2012

If your British husband uses metric weights, I'd be surprised. My bet is on him being completely clueless.

Because this Brit knows exactly what you mean.

Don't interrupt me when I'm talking to myself

 I think I have to agree with Pooky. My husband never had trouble understanding any of that.

I do remember a website where it showed you week by week how big the baby was getting by comparing it to a fruit or vegetable. :D Maybe that would be more concrete for him? It may have been Babycenter.com where I saw that.

Yeah, I used to have the weekly emails sent from babycenter.com (aka babylooney). I'd send the husband a link to the weekly image, a drawing that would highlight certain things. I called it "Limitus of the Week." Even after Limitus became Limita, it was still Limitus of the Week.

Limita has yet another cold, which Jon and I are sharing with her. Isn't cold season supposed to be over? Good grief! I can only hope that she'll have a nice robust immune system after all this.

In other news, the Yotes aren't having the best series so far. :(

Have I mentioned the impending British invasion? Jon's mum, sister, bro-in-law, and four-month-old nephew arrive on Friday for 10 days. We're really looking forward to it. Jon found them a vacation rental in the complex next door. Mad-Ag will get to meet her new much younger cousin Max. (Mad Max, how about that?) It will be crazy, of course, but it should be fun.

Ah so it was Baby Center. I remember you saying their boards were a little whacky. :D I'm at the WTE boards for babies Emily's age. They've been helpful to a point but I have learned to ignore the idiots. But it is nice to check in with mothers who have children around the same age and see what milestones they're hitting, etc.

I just had a freaking cold last week, as did Emily (how Chas was immune, I'll never know). So apparently cold season is very much NOT over. Wish we had all gotten the memo, eh??

TOTALLY bummed about both the Yotes and the Blackhawks!!! :( But the Preds are up 2-1 in the series so I'm happy!! Just have to continue on. As our coach said after last night's win, 'We've won a game. We still have a lot of work to do.' :)

Oh wow - that must be exciting for you!!! I know it will be nice for her to meet all her extended family. How wonderful! Esp. wonderful is that they can stay close by without actually being in your house for 10 days. Believe me, I know. I hope your MIL isn't as vile and nasty to you as mine is to me. Frankly I wouldn't wish that on my worse enemy, but anyway! :D Take lots of piccys.

PS A friend of mine here at work just told me she is 6 weeks pg! :D She's not told many other people so I feel special that she decided to share with me. She is Irish (hubby is American) though has lived all over the world. This will be her first, too, so I think she was keen to have my input and support. :)

Hey Julie, how cool that they're all coming in...it's gonna be an awesome time.

I wish my in laws could visit more - they're in the process of selling their house, and I think everything's put on hold until it sells. It's a stressful time for them, and with planing to move their business as well (from Seattle to TX), they haven't been able to visit since Scott graduated :(. Scott's sister also just decided on a career change, so now she's back in school for a 2nd degree, so she and her partner can't come out either. And right now, it's not the best time for us to go there either. :( Ahh, suckage.

I hope they'll be able to come out for his Baptism, but I'm not holding my breath.

J & T - - How are the babies doing with their colds? Nick's only had the one, and it hit him so hard. It was such a stressful time for me cos I was so worried for him, and it broke my heart to see him in such discomfort. I know, I'd better get used to it, but still.

Anyway, the other day, Nick cut his first upper tooth. Today, he cut another one. So in total, he's got 4 teeth! whoa! I'm drowning in drool!

Hi, ladies

Yes, we're looking forward to the in-law visit. They arrive tomorrow evening. I'd say I'm very lucky in the MIL department. She's a very nice lady and great with the baby. She's 67 and has more energy than I do. She also likes to drink lots of wine. My kinda lady! That said, I know that she and Jon will have a good argument or two. She can be a bit of a bully (in a polite and nonconfrontational way, of course) sometimes and communicates in an indirect way that can be bewildering, but I'm sure it will be a fun visit. Plus, Jon's sister and brother-in-law are coming, so there's "dilution," as Jon put it. It will be lots of fun to see the cousins interacting. We'll have to tell Mad-Ag to be nice to her much younger little cousin! Who I think might be bigger than she.

Limita still has a cold but it's getting better. This is her third cold since February, although the first (RSV) was the worst in terms of how congested she was and how long it lasted. Just as the teething discomfort started to improve, the latest cold set in. It's so hard to see her sick. She's such a fun, happy baby when she's well. All unavoidable, I know. It'll be easier when she gets older and can tell us what's wrong.

Lisa, we're drowning in drool too, and Mad-Ag only has the lower teeth coming in! I'm sure much fun is in store when the upper teeth decide to make their appearance.

Yotes :( Who might be leaving Phoenix. :(

Go Preds! :) Tracy, how's little Em?

(I have to root for the Bruins too, of course, being a Mass. chick.)

That SUCKS about the Yotes maybe leaving town. We went through that a few years back - luckily had committed (and rich!) local business owners step in and save the day.

We just lost at home last night in game 4 - big time. It sucked big time. In Anaheim tomorrow night, back here on Sunday for game 6, which I will be at. Should be on Versus so watch for me. :D

Em is fine. Finally over her cold, though her daddy finally did catch it this week. (Poor guy, as today is his birthday!) I think she may be teething. Slightly runny poop again (from time to time) and diaper rash back with a vengeance. Not an over abundance of drool but wants to chew on things most of the time. Unless we luck out and get a babysitter for Sunday, she'll be at the game with us as well.
