So, over the last week, Limita has started rolling from her back to her tummy. This happens a lot. A couple of weeks ago, she was rolling from her tummy to her back, which is supposed to be easier? Over the last couple few nights, she's been waking up and crying because she's stuck on her tummy. Apparently she's forgotten how to roll back the other way. A couple of times, she's been relaxed enough to sleep on her tummy, but more often, she doesn't like being stuck in that position and cries. As ever, the glorious uninterrupted overnight sleep was an aberration and did not occur a third time! Zzzzz....

Awww!! I take it the extra drooly phase has hit her as well, eh? (Hence the bib?)

I THINK going from stomach to back is supposed to be easier but I'm not really sure. Emily started turning every which way in her crib by 4 months but it luckily never seemed to bother her - she was able to get herself back to sleep no matter how she ended up. I thank her daddy's sleep genes for that one. SO sorry about the interrupted sleep being back!! :(

Jon and I both have excellent sleep genes, so I'm not sure what's up! The interrupted sleep is the norm, unfortunately. She slept 8-6 two nights in a row. The second morning, Jon said, "Could this be the new reality?" I said, "Bite your tongue!" I think she's slept 8+ hours straight maybe a total of five times since birth. Her sleep patterns are probably typical for a baby her age. People on Baby Looney are complaining about the "four-month sleep regression." Limita didn't really have much to regress from, but it seems that the culprit is the new rolling-over ability. Limita is also still a bit congested, so that doesn't help. It will be so awesome once she's sleeping through the night reliably. Last night she was up at midnight to eat, then up every two hours because she was stuck on her tummy. I know this phase doesn't last long, but it's maddening! At least she's off the bink, so that's not a complicating factor.

There's been increased drool, but the bib is more for spit-up. The spitting up/burping has greatly improved, but she still spits up after pretty much every feeding. She's just that kinda baby.

Good deal on the bink!!! I sure hate that you're having to wake up every 2 hours though! :( Emily seemed to skip right through the supposed 4 month sleep regression. I think she's had a 7/8 month one though. The last 2 weeks, she has been kind of inconsistent. She'll either sleep right through w/out a peep or is wide awake at some point in the night and ready to roll for a few hours.

I would have thought this would bring her daddy to bed at more reasonable hours but no. Still 5 or 5:30 am before he comes to bed. How he manages on 3 or 4 hours of sleep a day, I'll never know. I'd be ready to rip someone's head off after the 2nd day of it if that were me. Likely why the roles continue to be reversed in the right ways...!

I never heard of the four month sleep regression, but then again, Nick has slept through the night since about 6 weeks old, and hasn't really deviated from that (save a few exceptions). He has always been a good sleeper, and from birth to 6 weeks, he'd pretty much sleep on and off all day, and be up most of the night. It was so hard with him having his days and nights mixed up, and we tried everything under the sun, to no avail. Then one day, he just switched...it was the oddest thing, and I thank God for it daily

I think rolling back to tummy is easier...he did that at around 6 weeks as well, but it took yonks for him to do it the other way round. Well, I kinda lie...he did it a handful of times, then never did it again for months. Now, obviously he does both all the time. But I have no explanation why the time in between.

eta: Trace, wth does Chas do all night? lol

Mad-Ag is lovely, Julie.

Mad-Ag is lovely, Julie.

Plays guitar, fixes computers (if someone has brought him one), right now he is creating Rush karaoke tracks for our upcoming pre-show party, watches movies, etc.

BUT - I finally asked him this morning if he is doing it so he doesn't disturb me by coming to bed - and I'm right!!! I feel SO bad. I told him I do NOT care about that - it will wake me but I'll go back to sleep. And even at that, I said you could lay on the couch for a few hours - he said, 'I could.' LOL. Men! I mean I appreciate his concern for my sleep but I am concerned for HIS!!!!

Mad-Ag really is a cutie, isn't she??? :) :)

Aw, thanks, ladies. I still can't believe how cute she is. Of course, she looks nothing like me, so I can say that. :P

How did your little ones do with the time change? We had Emily at a Predators game Saturday night so her schedule was screwed up anyway. It was nearly 11 pm before she was in bed and she slept until 10:30 yesterday morning! I think it being dark later will help her. She was down around 9 last night.

He went to bed at normal time, actualy (very busy day and he was knackered) and woke up an hour 'late'.

(As did his Mommy and Daddy, who forgot to change the one clock that mattered.)

LOL

As an aside, Trace...I'll share an inside joke w/everyone....The Predators' billboards last year (haven't seen any this year) looked like it said 'Redators' cos of the graphics. We had one right near the house, so we saw it multiple times a day. So anytime the man and I see/hear 'Predators' we say 'Redators' in a funny voice.

Silly, but there it is.

 That's good stuff. As another aside, Chas and I have 'bench' seats for tomorrow night - for free- thanks to a friend. So we are sitting literally between the two benches. Eeee!!! :D :D

My sister and niece are staying with Emily - we didn't figure those would be safe seats for an 8 month old to be in! It may not be for us but I have a hard head, so...! LOL

Hi, ladies

AZ doesn't do daylight savings (we alternate between Mountain & Pacific time--now we're back on Pacific), although I don't imagine it would have made much difference because Limita's sleeping schedule is still somewhat fluid. A good development over the last few weeks is that she does go to sleep more or less reliably around 8 and sleeps for several hours straight. She's still waking up anywhere between 2 and 4 for a small feeding, but I'm hoping that will end soon. She picked up another cold almost as soon as she got over the first, so that's affecting things. All the kiddos in the infant room at daycare have had it. The doctor said it's been a bad year, but the season is almost over. Oh yes! Speaking of which, I got to visit with Doctor Dreamy McDorky Thursday to check Limita's ears, which are fine (knock on wood, since she's picked up another cold). I figured out that what I like about him is his voice. He has a smooth velvety voice and a warm but matter-of-fact way of speaking that makes me blush, even as he's talking about stuff like antibiotics and using a bulb syringe to loosen ear wax. Sadly, I noticed that he suffers from high-waistedness, although fortunately he wasn't wearing pleats. I just don't think I could overlook pleats.

Limita and Taylor, her "older" boyfriend, continue to enjoy each other's company. Apparently they like to sit in their respective exersaucers and stare at each other. I took a picture of this scene Friday morning. So cute. (I put this on FB.)

Now that Limita can turn over, she's completely restless all the time. She also sleeps on her tummy, and there's not much I can do about it. I put her in her crib on her back, and within seconds, she's on her tummy. Fortunately, most of the time, she'll calm herself down and fall asleep this way, but if she's not super-tired, she'll want to be picked up. I'm really glad a friend of mine gave me a hand-me-down mesh bumper, because Limita's all over the crib. I think because of all the "back to sleep" SIDS conditioning, I worry when I see her sleeping on her tummy, but DDMcD said it's fine because she's now physically able to turn over by herself.

That's awesome about the hockey tickets, Tracy. My bro-in-law has Coytoes season tickets in the second row near center ice. I love the hockey games, they're so much fun. I always end up getting lit when we go.
