There may be something to that theory! Though I have no clue what Chas' due date was to know whether or not he was on time or what. And I sure as hell am not emailing my monster in law to find out. LOL

Yo,

Nothing new to report. I suppose I should mention that my "technical" due date is actually tomorrow, based on my first ultrasound at about 7 weeks. This is the date in my OB's file. My 18-week ultrasound estimated 10/21, so I decided to stick with that because the earlier date is better psychologically. My guess is that Limita will arrive Oct. 25.

My bro, sis, and I were all born within a few days of our due date.

I hope she comes soon! I'm really uncomfortable and have a large splotch of very itchy skin beneath my belly button that seems to be getting bigger and bigger. I can't tell if it's standard skin-stretching itchiness or some kind of dermatitis, which I'm prone to. This is in addition to the usual complaints. Waaaaa!

Jon is getting a bit jumpy. Limita's most active in the evening, and sometimes her movements are painful. On a couple of occasions, including the night I think she dropped, I sort of jerked forward on the couch, holding my belly. Not unreasonably, he's wondering if it's labor pains. I haven't really had anything crampy or contraction-ish, although the Braxton Hicks have been getting more painful over the last few weeks. I'm going on the assumption that when it's the real deal, I'll know it.

Aw man - here I was hoping! And yeah - you'll know when it's the real deal. That freaked me out - I thought 'how do you know??!' because no one really tells you. That's why I described my experience for you. It's just cramps that won't really stop, and you might spot or something a little as well. But you'll definitely know the difference.

We're all excited for ya - it's like waiting for a cork to pop or something. :P

I was so excited to see you post!!

I found my best indicator was the manic "nesting". Just before I would go into labour I went a bit nutty doing all the laundry and cleaning and shopping and preparing foods. Have you had a nesting urge?

Re: nesting, not really. I keep waiting for the urge, but I guess I'm just a slob at heart. (I'm pretty good about keeping a reasonably clean kitchen, I should add.) Actually, we just got a new washer & dryer last week, so I'm enjoying doing laundry. (!!) I'm sure the novelty will wear off quickly!

Nesting was a really neat-weird experience. I am already a bit obsessive-compulsive when it comes to cleaning but I went into super hyper overdrive! It was an awesome feeling. Oh! And I know what you mean about enjoying the new washer and dryer because we just got new ones, too, and I stand there and watch the clothes go round and round for some odd reason. Not the whole cycle, mind you. I'm not THAT odd. lol

Maybe it's not too late to be hit by the nesting bug. It would be handy, because the cleaning groove is often elusive for me.

I have an OB appointment today. I'm interested to hear what she has to say regarding the likelihood of Limita's arrival this weekend. I'm hoping Limita arrives tomorrow because today is my niece's birthday, and it would be good if each kid has her own b-day. Also, if Limita arrives tomorrow, I have a good excuse to skip Chuck E Cheese's. Actually, maybe just being there will send me into labor. Fortunately, it's not far from the hospital.

Let us know what the doc says. Curious if you will be at all dilated or effaced. I wasn't, even after having contractions that were 5 mins apart - that's why they SENT ME HOME from the hospital (UGH!!)

I'm back from the doctor. No dilation, and apparently Limita hasn't dropped. (?) Perhaps moved a bit, but not engaged properly. My copious amniotic fluid could be a contributing factor. I'll be induced Friday (10/29) if Limita doesn't come before then. My doctor doesn't want me to go past 41 weeks and said I'd be a priority induction because of my advanced age & polyhydramnios (the medical term for lots o' amniotic fluid). I really don't want to be induced, so fingers crossed that Limita will come on her own!

NST was good.

Good doc! Definitely don't want to go beyond 41 weeks in this case. Plus the dates aren't always very accurate--don't want to risk it if your little one is further along than you guys think. I've met a couple of true 43 and 44 weekers who have very dry skin :(

Wishing you all the best with the delivery! and hopefully avoid the pitocin!! :P

I hope you won't have to be induced, either - although I suppose there are worse things in the world. Come on Limita - LOTS of people are dying to meet you!! :)

You're tellin' me! I predicted 10/25, so she's got about 15 hours to show up. :)
