Chinese translation

Hello,

My Chinese fiancee is considering having her cousin who is fairly fluent in English (i've met him personally) translate her official Chinese documents (birth cert, police rec, unmarried cert) into English and signing a statement certifying the translation is true and correct etc., then go to the notary. Is this good enough for Guangzhou, or are there actually licensed/certified translators in China with some kind of special stamp that the consulate needs on the document along with notarization?

Thanks if anyone can clear this up for us. She would rather just pay for the notarization but avoid paying more money for a simple translation.

The notary will take care of the translation.

Yes, and that is what the Consulate will expect. Notarial translations from the Gong Zheng Chu.

if the cousin does this, no 'trip to notary' required.

GUZ IV understands the 'white book' notarial translations, very well. What's the issue for not going to a Notarial Translation office?

Here's a longish post about it (ignore the bickering, ya? ) http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/228853-notarial-birth-certificate/ (Click the link, have a read? )

I got another question will there be translators at the interview. My fiancee don't speek much English so I am pretty worried.

How's YOUR CHINESE? You two have any 'communication issues' with regards to language ? Hey ! You should think hard , to write up an evolution of relationship letter, give it to her for interview day.
