Helloo Guyz, Just planning and wannna make sure everything is done properly. Question: Do they allow spouse to go along with wife inside? wt is the best way of taking all the orignal papers go through easily? Bag? file? our appointment is at 8:00 AM on July 20. What time we should be out side in the line to get the things done fast? How much time it takes to get interview done? Is there a choice to pick up the passport rather than mail out? I don't mind staying couple of days more and then pick it up rather than email. Thanks.

In canada your spouse is allowed to accompany you. Most ppl bring a large file folder. if you check out the canada wiki you can see what is allowed in and not regarding large purses bags etc. You want to get there as early as possible..there is no appointment regarless of what the letter says, they take you in first come first serve and assign you a letter. so plan to be there at 6:30. In the canada forum there are a few threads for interviewees, with instructions tips and helpful tidbits you may want to read.

depending on when you get there you could be out by 9 noon or later. We were first in, approved and out by 9am. Montreal usually mails them out by expresspost thus the need for the 12 x 15 envelope, you can ask to pick it up but more often then not they wont. it's really up to the CO.

I carried all of our papers in my laptop bag/briefcase. They had a bag search and x-ray machine at the embassy in Colombia. I would assume the security is similar. good luck

We used an accordion style folder with dividers to carry our documents and yes the do allow the spouse to attend the interview with their wife. I would be there atleast 30 minutes prior to the interview just to give yourself some extra time if needed.

As for the interview, our interview took about 10 minutes and we didnt have the option of picking it up at the Embassy. We had to use a courtier service.

This was my experience in Colombia but I'm sure Canada will be different.

Also I dont think you should have many problems because Canada is a "Low Risk" country.
