So my wife and I have made it through the CR1 process through the NVC. Our case was approved this past Monday June 7th. I had attempted to sign into the online payment portal page earlier on Monday and it had allowed me to do so, I believe I even called the NVC and the AVR gave me no updates. Later Monday nite around 10pm ish I decided to check sign onto the payment portal again and BOOOOM sign in failed, I have been approved :) I immediately called my dad who has been keep close tabs on this like myself and let him know that I think I have been approved. I called the NVC around 10:30pm thankfully they are there till 11pm central hehe, so I called a really polite rep answered and as soon as I completed verifying my info with her she tells me "do you know sir your case has been approved today" I was smiling ear to ear and thanked her for verifying this for me. Once I got off the phone I called my wife, woke her up in fact, and gave her the good news. Shortly after my call she told everyone what had happened.

During the day my wife was made a little uneasy by comments my mother made to her, she said something along the lines of "dont get so excited nothing has happened yet and there is still time" this clearly left my wife a little disheartened.

Later in the day when my wife and I spoke again she said that she was a little disheartened and after I spoke to her for a little while she finally told me why she was a little down. I reassured my wife the interview is pretty much a formality at this point, and I definitely do feel this way. Yes I know that the CO can deny the visa app but there is no reason to do so. My words were a comfort to my wife and she was no longer feeling disheartened.

I just got off the phone with an NVC operator who gave me some interesting information. Now please note I dont know if this info si specific to cases for Pakistani beneficiaries

- she informed me that interviews are scheduled during the second week of each month. The NVC is informed by the embassy in Islamabad as to how many people they can see and from what categories.

-Question

Since I am a US citizen applying for my spouse I would assume that my category will be the highest priority?

So I am hoping that my wifes interview is scheduled this week for next month. I would appreciate any feedback from VJ members who were in a similar situation as myself, I would love to hear what you think my thoughts are regarding an interview hopefully next month, do you think it is possible?

Thanks to everyone who has helped me by directing me to the right places in terms of information or who has answered my questions thank you all so much and hopefully I will be updating this thread.

I think you missed the deadline for the July interview, the cut off date was the 4th of June, but keep your hope up maybe you will be lucky and get a July interview date. NVC will be scheduling the interviews this week for July.

Not at NVC. When NVC Processing Begins, all I-130s are given the same weight.

LPRs , F2s, must wait a bit, before NVC Processing Starts.

Are you sure 'all is completed' ? When you call NVC back, ask them if they completed their 'final review' or not, ask if you are eligible to be scheduled this week for interview appointment. Those 2 questions, IMO, should remove all doubt .

Darnell, thanks for the advice AGAIN :), I will ask the NVC those questions when I call again probably on Friday evening.

IndigoSkies, my phone cell bill for the past 6 months has been an average of $300 with the lowest being $260 and this month being the highest at $460. Ofcourse that does not include the calling cards and other calling services I use which is atleast a $100 a month. So ya fair statement to make I do miss her.

I was married in Nov 09 was there in March this year and going again in a few weeks. So I am sure this will clearly show how much I miss her :)

Sachinky, bite your tongue :) All I want for christmas is a July interview date, after all I have been good all year long :)

I think it is my fault if we get an August date, after all I did not follow the shortcuts given to me on VJ as I should have and was delayed b\c I was waiting on paperwork that I could have gotten before. Oh well hoping for the best, a July interview date.

Question since I am going thruogh CR1 process should my wife expect to pay any additional fees at the embassy when she goes for her interview?

No, there are no additional fees unless there is something specific to your consulate that I am not aware of.

Anyone else know?

As far as I know, the fees paid to Visa Center are the only fees you have to pay for the visa. All you would pay, though not sure, would be the fee to see the consulate, besides that, I think your done with fees!

Best of Luck!
