Anyone who opposes the building of this mosque for ideological reasons or reasons of "taste" really need to be honest with themselves - because what is implied by such arguments is that Islam is synonymous with terrorism.

Islam is not synonymous with terrorism, but there's a strong one-way connection - most terrorists who want to harm this country are Islamic.

1. Just because the majority of Muslim/Islam support wether fiancially or condone actions of the terroists that are in ther religeon does not mean everyone of them does. Unless someone demonstrates the above actively or indirectly then there is no problem with that person.

2 No one should be held accountable for the actions of others no matter what orgainization you are part of unless you do the above.

3. I haven't once said they don't have a right to build there but it is in poor taste.

And if that isn't poor taste what of the 2nd mosque that is to be built even closer to what you regard as Ground Zero.

They are rasining money to build this; need 2.5 million more to begin.

I guess they have the right to surround the entire area and raise flags to 'LA ILLAH ILLA ALLAH' . Wow they re only trying to heal the wounds of the attack...Right?

Oh dear, let's try again shall we.

You said that the building of a mosque in downtown Manhattan is "bad taste". That opinion clearly implies something about Islam, that Muslims are (to say the least) unwelcome in that part of NYC.

You might have suggested that all Muslims shouldn't be held accountable for the actions of the hijackers, but the statement that a Mosque is "bad taste" totally contradicts that.

Building the mosque is no big deal and no threat to anyone.
