Hello, I was wondering, if you are denied on your first interview (casablanca) how long after that can you interview again. I was at a local office here and this guy from Casablanca told me that he was denied on his first, second, and told the CO on his third interview that his wife was here in Casablanca waiting outside. On his second interview, they said they needed more evidence and gosh they were already married for almost a year. So on his third interview, the guy said to the CO, I have no more evidence we have given you everything we have, and from what he told me it was way more than enough evidence. The CO said so you said your wife is outside, and he said yes would you like to talk with her, the CO said go find her and come back with her. As soon as the guy went to find his wife outside, they called him back to the window and he said you are approved, no need to talk with your wife. Gosh!!! why in the world would they put him thru all that.....wacko.gif

But my real question here is, I asked him how long did it take to interview between each visit. He replied, he went back every 15 days. I have heard its every 150 days ????

Does anyone have any ideas?helpsmilie.gif

Thanks

Ok...that sounds absured in my opinion...every 15 days??? We were told to wait for a 2nd interview & that we were not denied and that was 3 weeks ago, so i don't really know an answer to your question, but i know Casa is rough. I wish you both the best of luck.

Monica :)

Darlene,

I don't know the situation of the man you spoke to, but typically, if someone is denied on the first interview, there is no second interview. The denied petition is returned to USCIS for review, where they usually let it expire. The only way to get another shot at interviewing after a denial is by contacting your congressman's office right away and requesting that the liaison call the consulate and stop it from being sent back. And that's a long shot.

You're free to refile after a denial, but you have to go through the entire process all over again. There is a pinned topic at the top of MENA regarding returned petitions that you can read up on if you want to know more about the process after a denial.

Wish you the best of luck in your journey!

Every case is different, not one alike. Some had 2, 3 interviews....no time frame. If you get denied the 1st time you can withdraw the petition once it gets back to the USA and refile another K1 or marry. Focus on your 1st interview right now so that hopefully you don't have to worry about additional interviews.

01/2006 - Filed k1(1st time)

04/2006 - Interview (1st time) denied

Waited, waited...... no review

06/2009 - Filed k1 (2nd time)

09/2009 - NOA 2 approved

12/2009 - Interview (2nd time) APPROVED! VISA ISSUED

02/2010 - Arrived USA

04/2010 - Married

It sounds like the guy you spoke to wasn't denied but rather, they wanted more evidence. That happens ALOT! Each embassy is different, as are each embassies interviewers (depends on the kind of day they're having imho).

If he's actually denied at the interview (no 221g or "more evidence needed"/etc) then I recommend looking up at the pinned threads at the top of the MENA forum. Then, once you've read thru those, contact kiyah if you need more help. Kiyah is AWESOME and has helped a TON of ppl get thru denials.

The situation this man went through is very specific to only his case, so there really is no answer to your question as this is very case-specific. It is actually less common to get 2 or 3 interviews for the same petition/application, especially in Casablanca. For whatever reason the consular officer allowed that particular case to play out this way (multiple interviews). More often than not, cases that may benefit from an additional interview are merely returned to the USCIS for review unless a congressional rep can sway the consulate to allow another interview.

Kiyah,

What, if any, if the difference between a senator's rep vs. a congressional rep contacting the consulate? In your experience/knowledge, etc, does one generally get better results that the other?

Thanks!
