Thanks for the site, I actually have been researching about heart murmurs all day long, The problem I am having is that there is really no way to tell till the puppy is much older 16 weeks-25 weeks is roughly when they will say it is not going to go away.

I am pretty sure she will say no to me about lowering the price due to her having a few puppies in the past with heart murmur's and as she says the owners never called to say they did not go away.

I dont care I will pay full price for her but It would be nice

Had dogs all my life--but only 1 was a pure-bred--A Sheltie--Simba, best dog I ever had, but passed away from Canacer last yr, he was 9 yrs old! I have 2 pure-bred Siberian cats--and 1 does have a murmur--and I have never contacted the breeder. What are they going to do?? And the cat is fine.

a new puppy is always exciting times!! Can be frustrating too,lol My dog and I are making the trek to SK thgis weekend, 2100 miles of bonding,lol I don't think she is looking forward to it,lol

My dog had a grade 4 murmur for about 6 years. It was detected by more than one vet so I doubt it was a misdiagnosis. She had to go into get some surgery to have a couple of teeth removed, and at that time, it had changed to only a grade 2 (and this was checked by 3 vets at that practice).

Even when she had the grade 4 mumrmur we would gor for runs together...sometimes up to 15kms. It never seemed to affect her at all. She just turned 12 in Feb and is still going strong!!

I have rather good news I think... I took my new puppy to My vet yesterday (had to as i have a 5 day health guarentee to see a vet) she looked her over etc and at the ending she said so It says here that she has a grade 2 murmur, I replied yes the vet said that. My vet said I would say It is nervousness as IF I had to rate it I would say it is a grade 1, if it even exists. She said she will check it again in 4 weeks but that she would almost bet that she doesnt have a murmur at that time. SO yay. he he . She is so adorable and has the heart of a lion, damn brave dog and soooo loveable. So Im happy and I think I made a great decision , I wouldnt have it any other way !

I <3 puppies!

I had a German Shepherd when I was in India. We got him when he was only 28 days old.. and it was like a small super duper cute stuffed animal . I was so sad when we had to give him away when we were moving to US :-/

My wife is deathly afraid of any kind of pets. She has told me that the only pets we're allowed to have are fish
