*grumbles* My henna is not here yet, and I was hoping I could get my hair recolored before I went up. With my luck, it'll be here Friday, and I.. will not. :P

Happy Holidays to you all, and may we all survive our families.:innocent:

Holding my nose and jumping off the cliff.. hope I don't hit any rocks in the water.

Joe is off on PTO now until New Years so we went into Atlanta to have lunch at a restaurant he really enjoys and isn't able to get to very often . It is a Korean Taco restaurant called Hankook Taqueria on Collier Rd! Yep - that's right - Korean tacos! It is actually just down the road from where the Application Support Center for the Atlanta USCIS is located. I sure wish I had known about it when I was still doing biometrics because the food is great! They have tacos and burritos but instead of Mexican fillings, they are all filled with Korean type food - chicken, beef, fish, shrimp, pork with Korean seasonings, sauces, veggies and rice. To go with them they also have Sesame fries - French fries fried in sesame oil and then seasoned. The servings are huge so we actually brought home our left overs and finished them for dinner. The place looks like a small hole in the wall diner but it was packed to the gills and we were lucky to find a parking space. Apparently it is one of the best known secrets in Atlanta! It is well worth a visit for those who are in the Atlanta area, especially if you are still dealing with the ASC - just turn right coming out of the ASC, go down the hill and it is on the right hand side as you start to go around the corner.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

So we are having a nice, quiet Christmas. Atlanta is to get its first White Christmas since 1887 when 1/3 of an inch stuck around :P . The sleet started about one o'clock and it is beginning to turn to the white stuff now - snow is beginning to stick on the frozen mustard plants - and is expected to continue overnight and tomorrow with the temperature maybe making it up to freezing during the day. That's fine - we have no need to go outside!

I'm just waiting for Joe to finish with his carmalized onions and then dinner's ready - ham glazed with cloved spice peaches, mashed potatoes, carrots and yellow squash - not a usual Christmas dinner, but hey! It's all good! Merry Christmas everyone!

Sounds just beautiful Kathryn....I saw your lovely weather on the news - looks like fun.

A light dusting of big pretty snowflakes this morning here in northern Virginia...very Christmas-y. Our dinner company has just left and we are contemplating a quick evening constitutional to help burn off the extra calaories today

so yesterday I was at Walmart returning some shorts my SIL gave my husband.. I don't normally return gifts but the shorts didn't fit him and it would have been a waste of my SIL's money plus he really needed pants for work..

anywho I am standing in line and this guy behind me with a crock-pot under his arm is on the phone with I assume is his wife and he is going on about all the things he had already returned to Target, Macys etc.. Scarves, purses, jackets etc and he is saying how much he got for all the things... at one point he says kind of disappointingly that he got only got 5 bucks for the one scarf.. I was thinking that I wouldn't want to give a gift to this family because they probably would just return it..:P

also this couple ahead of me only had some wrapping paper that was worth about 5 bucks... we were waiting in line for a long time. I wouldn't wait that long just to return some wrapping paper... :P

I wanted to do something for New Years Eve this year. so today I thought of having a games night at our place and have people bring appetizers... but then I found out that the people who might have come to my party already have other plans :( it would have just been family that would have come because we really don't have any friends.. one of my BIL's is having a party but I don't want to go because it will just be drinking and loud music... and my SIL's in-laws are having a party but my husband doesn't want to go there....

I just wanted to have a nice quiet-ish evening playing games and eating yummy food... we really need to get ourselves some friends :P
