Oh, how exciting, Colleen! When are you due?

You did? That's interesting. They gave me a piece of paper that said my license would be sent to my home address.... the same as they did in FL. Do you think it has something to do with making sure they don't issue licenses to the illegals?

I'm certain I got mine on the spot as I recall waiting for the picture to "dry" I heard they hold back a few of the ones were the pictures don't turn out very well--and post them to http://thechive.com/2009/01/26/funny-id-and-drivers-license-photos/

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Sooo the hubby goes to Iowa Monday for a job interview at Rockwell Collins. I'm sooooo excited, and praying that my boss lets me have monday off so I can fly there with him. I've already got Tuesday off for the return flight, but he's a pretty nice guy so I'd say he'll let me have it.

yayyyyy

ok so it has been really nice having my brothers here and my nephew but all my one brother wants to do is watch TV , play video games, sleep and eat me out of house and home  .. I buy these snack bags of chips for my husband and they eat a couple of bags a day... plus he has drank most of my nephew's apple juice ( I bought a one gallon jug of Motts).. i did say they could help themselves but this is crazy...

We didn't even know that we were expecting at that point. It was the "I will see you in 3 weeks goodbye that did it" LOL!!

Since i have just been sitting around doing pretty much nothing since I couldn't work...it seems like it has taken FOREVER! And now that we know it is going to happen anytime now...it seems like time has stopped.

I have just rediscovered just how different my way of thinking is from some of my new family here in the US. It seems some ppl seem to think its perfectly normal to place a baby in an unsafe crib, and since I don't want it they will sell it off to someone else. I think I should of just kept my mouth shut like I planned too, but I couldn't help it it just came out. Oh well they probably think I'm nuts with a lot of things, such as taking off shoes....

I am surprised by some of the things that they still sell here new that have been banned in Canada for years. The walkers with wheels on them and the wooden baby gates that expand and collaspe. In a way I feel lucky that I didn't have to deal with anyone trying to give me hand me downs....I am pretty picky as to what I will take as hand me downs, and it saves having to 'hurt' someones feelings when you have to say no thanks!

I was surprised when I saw the walkers for sale too. I couldn't not believe all the things that they still sell here. I'm normally pretty picky too about hand me downs, but when your told that its a new crib and its very high end you tend to think oh well maybe its worth taking a look at it. Just blows me away sometimes still.

Anyways how are you feeling?

I am feeling good. A few contractions, but nothing significant yet. At this point you just wish they would hurry the heck up!!
