so today my SIL informs me that a few weeks back my family back in Canada drew names for Christmas gifts and that me and my hubby have her and my brother.. she then says there is a $40 dollar limit and I said $40 max and she says no $40 each.. I was like :o so I replied and told her that we couldn't afford that so she said no worries, we don't have to spend that much...

I will spend about 70 to 80 bucks for our 11 nieces and nephews this year .. there is no way I am spending 80 bucks on two people :P.. I might as well get gifts for my whole family then :P I am not a cheapskate but I just don't believe in spending a tonne of money on gifts...

so I just ordered my hubby's Christmas present.. I got him the 4 seasons of the TV show, Stargate SG1 that he was missing.. it only cost me about 35 bucks with shipping.. My SIL is probably going to pay about half of that.. I love a good deal

lol.. I seem to be talking to myself..

I just thought of something that has me puzzled about the gift exchange my family did... why has no one contacted us and asked us what we may want or need? :P not that it is necessity but it isn't like they see us all the time and know what we like etc...

LOL,

My house is quite the mess right now as I had absolutely no time to clean yesterday, was at work all day then to an interview at night then had tocoook dinner and well then I fell asleep on the couch.

I too am not the large spender when it comes to christmas I dont have the money and I dont feel that christmas should be based off of what you get. One year I got my whole family lotto cards he he. Some even won. This year we are doing a family portrait and sending small things...plus 3 people will get flowers as they "helped" me with all the immigration costs this past year.

so i mentioned that a few days ago i ordered something from Amazon and with that order i was supposed to get a gift certificate for $4 worth of eligible movies and TV shows from Amazon Video On Demand which I was supposed to get after the items shipped. It shipped early yesterday morning but I didn't get the gift certificate so i sent an email to Amazon mentioning that I didn't get it and they responded by saying they were sorry i didn't get it and they were going to automatically add a $5 promotional code to my account... but then a few hours later I finally received the original promotional code.. so now i have the $5 that I can use on my next Amazon order plus the $4 promotional code for the Video on Demand

My best friend moved to South Korea this spring to teach English for a year. Given all the things that are going on... I'm so worried about her :(

I pray your friend will be safe and that nothing happens while she's over there. Apparently, North and South Korea have...little ''smirmishes'' a few times a year, and then they both retreat back to lick their wounds..:s

I just heard a 70 year old woman's cellphone ring with this song as her ringtone.

Granted, it was only the instrumental version of it, but every time it rings, everyone in the office who is under 40 just busts up laughing.

i bet one of her grand-kids, if she has some, put that as her ring-tone ...

I have a Christmas Day flight booked! :) My husband and I will drive down to NC a couple of days before Christmas to see his family, and then he'll drop me at the airport in Raleigh on Christmas morning for a flight to Buffalo. He'll drive up after Boxing Day to spend the remainder of the week in Canada, and then we'll drive back home together. Hopefully, the weather cooperates with this plan. lol
