Yeah, I'm watching what I eat too. And I like what I see. LOL

You need golden corn syrup, though, and I couldn't find it anywhere in FL. I did see some here in Wegmans in the British section, though. At megabucks. lol. Honestly, they really do need to install a Canadian section. There's got to be more of us here than the British!!!! :bonk:

Here you go. One for you and one for me. :D

I wanted a bit of a crunch to the pastry so I used a combination of shortening and butter. Plus I made a bigger batch.

This morning I went for blood work. My first ever experience at a lab in the US. It was interesting. lol. And, no, I don't know mine or my husband's social security numbers.

I am so so happy that all the miners are being removed from the earth. I was watching it while I was waiting in this luxurious lab with lovely hotel furniture. It brought tears to my eyes so I had to stop watching so I didn't get mascara all over. lol

LoL, I was listening to the news this morning on the radio on the drive in to work today. They were talking about those miners in Chile and one in particular. I guess one of the guys' wife and mistress met during this whole scenario. I bet that guy could actually wait to come out of the mine.

When you play with fire.... lol.

I just have an issue with everyone and their brother requesting the SSN information everywhere you go and with everything you do. I mean, why do they even bother to tell you to put the card in a safe spot and not carry it with you? Everyone has the freaking number anyway!

Yeah, I know. This got me too. I am listed on my husband's health care plan so have to give his SSN as well. Fortunately, both his number and mine are listed on my military ID card - I can still remember my SIN but not my SNN!

You have been in the US for this long and only now just got your first blood test? I've lost count of how many I've had - although I do get annoyed that every time I visit my doctor, even if it if for a sinus infection or something like that, they draw blood before they do anything else - grr! That being said, I haven't noticed any difference in the process/procedure between here and Canada - except of course, here I have to pay a co-pay and in Canada there was no out of pocket expense.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
