is it wrong that I am starting to plan our next "vacation"? ..lol

David still has 10 vacation days left plus 2 or 3 personal days.. he asked for a bunch of 3 or 4 day weekends spread out through the rest of the year.. we haven't heard if has got them yet or not..

our next trip might be next month.. I am thinking of going camping at this campground we went to a few years back that is somewhat close to San Diego... I wanted to camp close to the ocean but most of the good campgrounds are fully booked for next month already...

I've had Canadian KD, or Mac N Cheese as we call it here. It was meh. I prefer the U.S. version, undoubtedly because it is what I am used to. LoL, I don't get the Canadian obsession with ketchup. I dont' like it, so it really doesn't make much difference to me where it comes from.

He died a few hours ago.

awww Krikit... (F) I'm so sorry....

I just talked to my dad, he said they rented a dune buggy in Florence, Or and drove around in the sand dunes for an hour... it sounds like they are having a blast...

We did that at Pismo Beach in CA. We had a blast! I'd do it again in a second! *I even got to drive the jeep a bit*

so I posted a bunch of pics form our trip on FAcebook...

Beautiful! The East coast certainly has beauty, but I sure do miss the ruggedness of the West coast! We drove down the Oregon Coast 2 years ago.....so pretty....

I used to eat KD with hotdogs cut up in it all the time! Real healthy, eh? Now I prefer to make homemade mac and cheese! Tastes so much better, and I'm one of those Canadians that don't like ketchup, so I don't care where it comes from either! :P

I found some really really good store bought bread that is hfcs free!!

it's called Aunt Millie. they had an italian style with sesame seeds on top, reminded me of that d'italiano bread i used to get in quebec. i compared it to the regular crappy bread we have and it's so much less sugar carbs etc. i really liked it.

http://www.auntmillies.com/

i want to try out the english muffins to see how those are too. :)

oh and it was only .99 at meijer a loaf! :)

Well, congratulations! I'm sure you'll do great!

i like homemade better too but the last time I made it a few months back I got sick.. I have a slight lactose intolerance problem but I thought it would be ok because the milk was cooked but I guess the milk in combination with the cheese etc was just too much for my body to handle... I can eat KD though with no problems.. and I usually eat it with hot-dogs in it too..lol sometimes I had vegies too, like corn...

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Congrats Sprailenes!

Speaking of bosses...my boss quit yesterday. Just like walked out and quit. Oh yeah, and it was during our audit! The auditor thought that we were joking and that he left for lunch but when he didn't come back The Terminator(our affectionate new name for him, LOL) was really freaked out. Said he'd never had that happen to him before. Never really thought he'd have a meltdown and leave just because of an audit.

Did I mention we got a good score? :bonk: After all that drama, he quits for nothing.
