My boss got fired for her (lack of) performance on Friday, they want to talk to me about taking over on Tuesday. I have a second job interview for a media firm on Monday. Decisions decisions!!!

We're having mojitos and I put too much rum in the shaker and now we're just being PLAIN OLD SILLY!!

Thats my life in a nutshell.

Mmmmmm what I would do for a Mojito!!!! Only about 8 months to go before I can enjoy a few!!

I'm sorry for your loss.

I know it will be a sad day, but I do hope you were able to enjoy your birthday.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

((((Krikit))) sorry for your loss...

*********

so we made it back home early this morning.. we were going to spend the night in the car somewhere but the hubster decided he wanted to drive straight home.... he drove for live 15 hours or so.. we did stop a few times though...

it was a great week but it was just too short.. I sobbed like a baby when we drove off leaving my parents behind :(.. I am feeling really sad still... I am hoping to go there around Christmas but I am getting a little tired of only seeing them once a year or so.. I wish we didn't live so far away..

anywho we took a bunch of pics and I will post some soon...

it was so nice and peaceful and relaxing at the cabin.. I slept sooo good better then I have in a long time... and it was nice to enjoy my mom's cooking again.. yum!

Sorry for your loss Kirikit!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I just talked to my dad, he said they rented a dune buggy in Florence, Or and drove around in the sand dunes for an hour... it sounds like they are having a blast...

my wonderful mother brought me a case of KD, a big bottle of Heinz ketchup and a jar of cheese whiz :D

I had only asked for All Dressed chips and coffee crisps because I have gotten used to the KD down here and I found a replacement for Heinz ketchup but she said she couldn't find a big bag of all-dressed chips :(.. I will enjoy the Canadian KD and ketchup though... and I was pleasantly surprised she thought to bring me Cheese whiz

Very cool of your mom to think of those for you.

I miss All Dressed chips and Canadian Cheese whiz, can't wait to get more. I'm not that fussy when it comes to KD and Ketchup, but I am watching out for anything with corn in it. Corn is one of my biggest food allergies and I've been working hard the last few days to make sure I avoid all corn products and boy its in everything, even salt. Hopefully I can eat some things with it and not react to it. Only time will tell I guess.
