Ewww Flames, no... I can't stand it.

Milk of magnesia works OK, but I didn't realize they make it in pill form. I'll look for that, thanks Ontarkie!

Usually I can fight through the heartburn, so its not that bad. I think the hardest part of sleeping is waking up every 2 hours to pee...

I'm only just halfway- 20 weeks. Its not THAT bad, but its not really fun either. I just think I have the right to be bitchy without having to explain myself. I'm usually pretty good, but I have my moments... just let me have them. And then if I decide I was to mean I cry after because I feel bad. What the heck is that all about?! Its weird because I'm not an emotional person in my normal form...

I was at my cousin's house, one night, when she and her husband were having their first child. When her husband said something which was completely innocent and inoffensive, my cousin's head practically turned full circle and she lit right into him. He was sitting there with a shocked look on his face and I was standing behind her shaking my head no and made a motion to indicate it was her pregnancy hormones. Well, apparently, I wasn't discreet enough and she caught it out of the corner of her eye. So then she turned on me and screamed at the top of her lungs "IT IS NOT BECAUSE OF MY PREGNANCY HORMONES!!!!!!!!"

seriously have u tried metumucil in the passed few yrs? They have changed their formula, its no longer gritty!! I take it a few times a day to keep my cholesterol in check!! Lemonade is the way to go! Maybe add in some vodka (once pregnancy over, lol)

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Ok I'm a bit OCD so this may be a silly vent for some but it is driving me nuts.

I have 5 forks and knives missing, I noticed awhile ago that my forks are always running out by the time supper is ready. I've been thinking the hubby took them to work over time and someone from work takes them. We have had a few things disappear from his work. He thinks the kids are tossing them in the garbage not paying attention to what they are doing. I don't think that's what's going on since they barely use knives so why would 5 of each be missing. I guess I need to go buy more to feel better.

Maybe this is a sign I am getting more sleep so I notice this stuff again, or its a sign that I need more sleep before I go nuts. :bonk:

OMG I thought that my little household was the only one that had this happening. You hear about socks all the time, but never about the missing cutlery. It drives me up the wall. Where do they go? I understand that the house hippos use the socks for their nests but the cutlery?

little story... I am great at not being overly hormonal when pregnant except during labor then the gloves come off... However With Levi at 36 weeks when I was all big and swollen, I was eating a banana in our kitchen when My husband walked in and I looked at him and started to ball. He asked me what was wrong and I replied with "you dont like me anymore!, you just dont like me". He hugged me covered in banana and tears.

Thank you for that you made my day. I have socks sitting in the bottom of my laundry basket waiting to be matched up one day. I think we must have gnomes or elves using the cutlery as weapons that has to be it.

Try Zantac for the heartburn. Tums worked for the first 20ish weeks for me, then I needed something stronger. I took one 150mg zantac daily and no more heartburn. You can get the generic stuff at walmart for pretty cheap.

I've often wondered if my missing half sock pairs turn up in someone else's machine. I swear I find single odd socks that I don't remember putting in the wash. I have a pile of them here. Of course, the mates never show up! So, have they migrated somehow to someone else's machine? (Or is it those house hippos . . never heard that term before, but love it!)

I did read once of a scientist speculating that the missing mass in the Universe is probably made up of missing odd socks . . .

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

When you said that I got a flashback to The Borrowers books that I read as a child. I think gnomes or elves is as good an explanation as anything else. :)

hehehe - thanks for the video - I loved it! A great message too  .

I've actually got a book on how to make stuffed 'animals' out of stray socks so I have started to collect them and plan on doing that when I get some spare time. Maybe I will make a spare sock house hippo! :D

is it too much to ask that my husband help out with the house? we have spackling to do on alot of holes , painting, washing of walls, unpacking, to do still. There is also the yard work, cleaning up old junk they had in a pile hidden behind the shed, as well as fixing the deck and normal lawn stuff. We've been here 3 weeks and i've painted 90% of teh upstairs, 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of paint, in 3 bedrooms plus the hallway. I unpacked most of our stuff, organized the bedroom arranged the furnature. Tuesday i have to go to the DR since i screwed up my right arm. Either i have carpen tunnel or i damanged my wrist. my hand keeps going numb and tingling and it wakes me up middle of each night like its a tree trunk cuz i have no circulation in it. I can barely hold a paint can anymore and anytime i do grab something with my hand i get these sharp electric jolt feelings up my arm right into my hand :(.

its suposed to be OUR house, yet i'm feeling like im suposed to do everything, while he talks about spending more and mroe money on pc parts and games and going out with his friends. And when i say anything about how i feel, i get the "you dont have a job" stuffed down my throat. and thats really hurting me. he keeps doing that lately and i've told him how i feel but its like he doesn't care. And hte minute i complain he says i'm trying to control him and wont let him see his friends or play games or spend money.

well **!..we have our first mortage payment June 1st and at this rate it wont be paid. Great way to start off home ownership!. and hes put stuff on 3 credit cards one which is new, and i am worried hes going to get us into debt like he did himself. I just helped him get out fo a 10k credit card debt when i met him, he is just paying that off its his 2nd to last payment. its like he feels he can just go spend willy nilly again too. sigh i just dont know what to do anymore. he doesn't seem to get it at all :(

I know how much work it take to do what you have done, I've been there and will be doing it again soon. Some ppl are just bad at finances and hate to say it but he is sounding like he didn't learn anything with his previous debt. Hopefully he is just excited with the new house and he is not thinking straight.

The only thing I would try to do is asking him if his friends want to come by and have a painting party. You get all the spackling done before, then when ready to paint ppl come over in the morning. Start painting eat lunch a few beers, back to painting then when done drink some more and supper. Hopefully all painting gets done. Well it works if the guys can at least paint lol. Or something similar for the deck and you BBQ.

If things are really bad with his spending you may have to implement an allowance type of thing. I know it's not easy when he brings home the money but if the person is bad with budgets they loose the right to handle all the money so to speak. It works well a lot of the time and can save a lot of stress. You know him best try and figure out what should be done in the least confrontational way so he wont go on defense.

As for the very rude you don't have a job comment I probably would of ripped him a new one. If you are worried about the first mortgage not being paid then you have every right to be pissed and tell him to smarted up if he can't see that time to smack him up side the head. It's hard because you can't just let him fall on his face and deal with the consequences since it affects you too.

The going out with his friends and you trying to control him makes him sound real young. I hope he grows up for you soon.

Hope you feel better soon.
