so in the beginning of April we moved into a new house and town. We are kind of in the country but not quite. It was so nice and peaceful here for the first few weeks. :) There are two houses on one property, the land lord lived in the other house but he moved out and was in the process of renting out his house when we moved in. The new people finally moved in about 2 weeks or so ago and it hasn't been peaceful since  .

They have two dogs, a doberman and some other small type dog. The little one especially will bark at everything it sees or hears. And if we go outside the little dog will bark the entire time we are out there :wacko: The doberman isn't as bad but his bark is deep and resounding. All the barking is really driving me crazy. They just leave the dogs to run around their back yard, day and night. Their back yard is connected to the front of our house but is separated by a fence. I think the dogs are bored and that is why they bark all the time. As far as I can tell they never take them for walks and I rarely hear them tell the dogs to be quiet.

I told my husband we should do or say something about it but he doesn't want to

You can probably file an anonymous noise complaint. I would 100%

yeah, they are home most times when the dogs are barking too but they don't do anything.. I find it very bizarre... I wish they would at least bring the dogs in at night...

Marilyn---I hate dogs that bark all the time. I have 2 dogs now had 3 but one had to be put down, and I refuse to have them outside just to bark. They drive me nuts I can't see how ppl don't go crazy with their dogs barking all the time.

ValerieA--- That sucks, I hate tracking things down like that, ppl always want to give you the run around. I had no problems getting court records from the court house once I got hold of the right person. She even sent me several with the court seal and everything at no charge.

You can probably file an anonymous noise complaint. I would 100%

how would I go about doing that? like who would i send it too?

I know dogs bark.. but this is crazy obsessive barking.. I can't enjoy my time outside because of all the barking :(

My first vent in a couple of years! I have missed this forum.

I need a certified copy of my probation record for my ROC. NO ONE is capable of getting this for me. I keep getting told it has to come from my probation officer. Yeah, hey, who do you think I called FIRST? :bonk: She can't get it to me because I am in Houston, and something to do with paying for it. Apparently money from a person currently living in the US is no good there. ARGH! So, I have no idea what I am going to do.

OK, end rant. Other than that, everything is going swimmingly! Oh, except drivers in the left lane on the freeways here seem to be scared of the gas pedal. The fast lane is the middle lane. Stupid.

Probration record???? I hope I won't need that, my probation officer retired years ago. Will court records not work for you?? I hate tracking down paperwork, it's a pita .

Drivers here are just as scared or they fly like they are race car drivers. I tend to get stuck behind gramma

Hey, thanks for resurrecting this thread, Ontarkie! Sorry to hear about your parents. And I agree that importing the car to the US will probably be more hassle than it's worth.

Marilyn, OMG, those barking dogs would drive me barkers! lol. My cousin has a small yappy dog like that. It never shut up and it never ever bothered her. I have no idea why that is with some people. I would talk to them about it first. If they're not approachable, call the landlord. Also look into Sapphire's suggestion. You can maybe call the SPCA to see what they suggest.

I have no complaints. :hehe:

I would google "noise complaint name of your city/town" and see what pops up. There is a whole site about for the LAPD, but I don't know if that covers you. I would also just try calling the local police number (non-emergency) and see what they suggest.

Barking dogs drive me nuts as well!! I ensure ours do not bark away!! inlaws used to have 2 beagles that were howlers! They finally brought one of those citronella collars! When the dog barked, it released citronella! They stopped barking almost immediately! Eventually all they had to do was put on the collar and leave the citronella cartridges out, and it still did the job! Here in Nica--the land of noise, many people just have dogs for security, they stay outside all the time and bark away!!

Do those things electric thingies onTV they advertise to stop a dog barking work?? Believe it sends out a very high frequency! Maybe a bit cruel, but they may stop ASAP!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Ok I'm a bit OCD so this may be a silly vent for some but it is driving me nuts.

I have 5 forks and knives missing, I noticed awhile ago that my forks are always running out by the time supper is ready. I've been thinking the hubby took them to work over time and someone from work takes them. We have had a few things disappear from his work. He thinks the kids are tossing them in the garbage not paying attention to what they are doing. I don't think that's what's going on since they barely use knives so why would 5 of each be missing. I guess I need to go buy more to feel better.

Maybe this is a sign I am getting more sleep so I notice this stuff again, or its a sign that I need more sleep before I go nuts. :bonk:

You know what irritates me? I'm thrilled to be pregnant, but its no walk in the park! You moms out there know. I'm blowing up like a balloon, my feet hurt, my back is sore, I pee constantly, sleeping is awkward, I'm constipated, everything gives me heartburn, my clothes dont fit... I can go on. But I'm the bad guy for being moody! I think I have that right! :bonk:

I hope I won't need it either. I am waiting for my court records from Ontario, but they haven't even cashed the check yet. I am scared they are not going to do it.

I still hate the drivers here. Hell, there is almost no traffic, compared to Toronto, but they drive sooooo slowwwwww.

Oh I know that feeling all to well, you can take milk of magnesia for constipation and it worked wonders for my bloating too. I hate the liquid stuff but they come in pill form now thank heavens. As for the heartburn I lived on tums, I know some ppl got prescriptions for their heartburn I just didn't feel like taking anything other then Tums. Or for sleep a body pillow also helped me and was cheaper then some of the specialty pillows.

Moody can't help you there I would just bite ppls head off and walk away. But chocolate and ice cream sure helped

Oh and I'm still nursing so the mood swing are still around, thanks to all the hormones still flowing through me.

You know what's weird? I was driving a good distance behind a car today and I was thinking "That guy drives exactly the way I do." When I got up closer I saw he had a Canadian flag magnet on the back of his car. What's even weirder is that I got behind another car with a Canadian flag magnet when I was going in the opposite direction. Sucks, though, because it's not like I can hop out and run into traffic to go "Hey! Me too!!"
