To get things back on topic I'd like to vent that this stupid mouse keeps sticking. mad.gif

Oh, and I'd also like to vent that I quoted Ashen's He-got-a-job post and I got an error message telling me that I have posted more images than I am allowed to. mad.gif

haha! See! That's why I posted it in the vent thread... so Krikit would have a reason to vent. ;) but really, it's because the topic has so much of a bond to the vent thread for me emotionally. lol

I just love the fact that when I called up Lowes to get a quote for custom made sliding mirror doors (naturally, none of our door frames are regular size bec this house is over 100 years old...), I get a 10 minute scolding about asking these questions over the phone... when I just wanted to get an idea of how much things cost and do not intend to buy doors over the phone.

Finally married... and still married... ;)

Thanks for the congrats everyone!! It was really funny watching him sort of prance around yesterday and randomly smile and say 'I got a job!' over and over... lol

That's like when I emailed Donna (from the EI department) this week and asked a question to confirm her email address to send documents... she replied saying email is not secure, and any inquiries need be asked by calling them, and yet documents could be sent by email....

I called lowes last week for a quote for a water heater for my brother n law! Dude said to give him my phone # and he would call me back in 2 minutes as he just had to check the stock--Never call me back, lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

We went to Lowes to get an estimate on a kitchen reno for my husband's condo last year. Spent close to an hour going over measurements with the sales associate. He barely knew how to use their computer program, finally gave up and said he would try to figure it out and call us back. Almost a year later we still haven't heard from him! Good thing my husband sold his condo and we moved. :)

That is AWESOME, Ashen... now you can have some you time! :D What kind of job did he get, if you don't mind my asking? Just out of curiosity!

:)

Congats again and yeah, you can send documents via email to Donna but you can't email to chat or check in or ask a question and such. Good luck with all that.

2 vents!...I want my husband home!! :crying: All the crappy stuff always happens when people are separated...just want it all to STOP!! Took time off of work for his arrival knowing that theres a chance I may be spending those days alone....blah love the military...NOT!

Got my first traffic ticket today...in my stupid attempt to get somewhere quickly I ran a red light(stupid of me I know! I am usually a cautious driver...ok it was yellow when I ENTERED the intersection). The cop was nice about it and said that I was eligible to take a traffic safety class, which is cheaper than paying the ticket and it won't go on record (insurance and no points on DL) But its 8 hours of my time that I will not get back..lol!

:bonk::angry::crying:

Question, are you stationed at a Army base? =o
