My vent is all the Bieber videos taking over this thread :P

Also, apparently we don't have health insurance coverage until September 1st, so I can't go to the dr. about my neck hurting from yesterday. And the stupid dude that hit me hasn't replied to me or my insurance agent yet. Oh joy. This is turning out to be fun. lol

I wouldn't really fool around with anything to do with your neck or head.

By September 1st if it isn't serious it will probably go away, if it is serious.. ZOMG YOU MIGHT DIE! :o

Okay a bit of a stretch but the dramatic effect may scare you enough to go see a doctor. :P

oh and I have looked at Target online and they don't really have the ones my husband likes.. I do plan on checking at the store though...

he likes the ones with the elastic waist and a drawstring and they can't be crazy colours either... he really only likes dark blue, black or gray..

GRR.. so we made plans tomorrow to go play mini golf with my SIL and her kids.. so today on Facebook I asked the oldest kid (she is 17) if she was coming tomorrow and she said probably.. so then I told my husband, "just watch her Aunt Bebe (my SIL's SIL) is going to see that we made plans with her and decide to do something with her tomorrow".. well, a little later I saw on our niece's page that she was going out tonight with her Aunt Bebe and some other people.. and then I saw Aunt Bebe say that she was sorry she couldn't make it tonight but tomorrow is going to be epic  I just know she found out about our plans for tomorrow and decided to make her own plans with her.. grrr

this aunt probably sees our niece a few times a week :P... we hardly get to hang out with our niece because she is always out with Aunt Bebe...

Ashen,

I had a quick chat with my fiancee today about your accident, she said essentially the same thing as Huggles, go to the doctor, tell them you were in a car accident, health insurance wont matter, they wont even want to see anything to do with health insurance coverage, everything will be billed to the insurance companies involved.

Go get checked, head/neck is kind of important

My husband was hit back in May pretty bad did almost 8k of damage to his truck. Whiplash pretty bad he still has problems with pain. As for the other guys insurance paying the doctor fees directly, it doesn't always work that way. We have to pay it all then settle later with them. They do not pay for anything medical till much later, they get access to his medical report from the doctors. The doctors here don't care if you have a medical claim with the other guys insurance if they aren't paying right off the bat, you have to have your health insurance or pay out of pocket.

I hate to say it but you really should of had the police called, if he didn't want to call them you could of had him charge as a hit and run or leaving the scene. I really think you are going to get screwed by him, hes not returning your calls cause he doesn't have too. Did you ever contact the police when you got home? Is there a police report? Did your insurance guy call the other guys insurance, that's really who he should be contacting. What if the guy who hit you has no insurance, could be why he never gave you the insurance info the day of the crash. He probably gave you a phony number too. I really hope that is not the case. If you haven't called the police, and I don't know how long you have to be able to file a report but if its not too late you need to do it now. With out the police report he will probably never report it to his insurance. And then your insurance will be footing the bill and your rates go up.

One more thing you may want to go see a chiropractor they can do wonders, and may be easier to deal with then the doctors. I know here the chiro's will work directly with your insurance, and you can have your own insurance open a claim till the other guys insurance pays up. Just pray its not Allstate they like to drag their feet.

My vent for the day-

When will it ever stop raining and when will summer be over? .......

Yet another storm/flood watch warning around here......

A little bit of rain is fine....But this is way too much.....

Sigh..There goes my dialup internet connection again.....

As it always goes out when it rains really heavily......

It's so frustrating not to be able to get online, and then have to worry about the creek in our yard flooding over....

Oh well....That's the way it is around here I suppose.....I guess I should be lucky that I get some internet connection at all out here in the woods, even if it is unrealiable....rofl....

I still hate the summer....It's too damn hot and humid to do anything around here....

And it sure isn't helping my seasonal allergies either.....

I'm tired of sniffling and sneezing all day long.....

I can't wait until it snows and it's winter.....

I will concur on this. In 1995 I was in a car accident and thought I was fine - until 3 days later when my neck literally locked in one position. I ended up having a torn rotator cuff and whiplash. My chiropractor was able to address the situation although it took a number of months of therapy to get the situation resolved. My car insurance paid for it. They called me about 3 months later and asked how it was progressing. My chiropractor had said he thought it would be another 8 treatments and I told them that. They said fine and continued paying. I notified them when it was completed. You do need to have it looked at - I suspect you may well have whiplash as that may not manifest for a day or so after the accident. Good luck.

Edited to add that this was in Canada. I do know that chiropractors can be a lot more reasonable cost-wise than doctors and are much more willing to work with you. I actually don't use my health insurance for my chiropractor here because the deductible for a treatment is actually higher than he what he charges so it is kind of pointless.

Good luck - and do file that police report even if it is late.

Can we stop talking about my accident? :P LOL But first.... I do appreciate the concern/stories of similar cases.

My neck actually feels tons better today than yesterday, and I have full range of motion with just slight pain when I turn my head all the way to the right. I haven't had any headaches since an hour or two after the accident (and regularly I get about 2-3 headaches a week anyway... haha!) And now it's 2 days after the accident, so for tomorrow and Monday, time will tell.

Also, we don't have health insurance yet (my husband JUST got signed on with his company 2 wks ago, and the insurance doesn't kick in til Sept 1st), and obviously can't pay out of pocket. However, via our auto insurance we have some minimal medical coverage ($5K), and some uninsured motorist coverage in case the guy doesn't own up, so we can use that to get the car fixed if it even really needs it, and my rates still won't go up (this has been confirmed by two different people with my insurance company) since I was not at fault. We're taking it in for an estimate on Monday. I know we definitely don't have 8K of damages on the car because our car isn't even worth that much. LOL So, with those things in place, and the guy being at fault (also meaning he can't come after me to pay for anything), we can't really get screwed. I also have the contact info for two witnesses at the scene who will back me up. There's no way my insurance will be footing the bill for his damages.

I talked over various scenarios with my insurance company, and they said not to bother filing a report with the police now, cause they won't care. I'll repeat: I did not have a cell, so I couldn't call anyone at the scene anyways. The guy gave me his driver's license and I copied down his home address, so if need be, my insurance company will also be mailing him a letter. Whether it's the most current address or not, who knows, but it showed a level of cooperation on his part anyway. My insurance agent has called him twice, and she says his voicemail machine does say 'Hi this is (his name)'... so unless he sets up fake voicemail too, I think the # is legit. LOL
