Helloooooo

I have my interview on Thursday and just saw someone got a 'pending' result because they didn't have a certified copy of the USC's divorce certificate.

I have the copy of my I-129F packet (including photocopy of his divorce cert) but that's it. Am I totally jiggered? Will they definitely not approve me on the day?

I thought the interview was all about me (and this was reinforced by posts on VJ) so I assumed the photocopies would do it. Now I'm reading through all my paperwork again and reading it in a totally different light and I can't believe I could be so bloody stupid. Will they need his birth cert original? What about his passport?!

I'm really confused now and have gone from being really relaxed about the interview to totally flipping out. I know it's not the end of the world but it's so frustrating I could just kill someone. Do I have any chance on the day?

Uh, was that at the London Consulate they were given a pending? They don't need the USC's divorce decree at the interview. Never. Certainly didn't ask for mine. Can't think of anyone else going through London every being asked for one.

Edit to add: ditto on the USC's passport and/or BC. Already dealt with at USCIS stage.

All USC ID stuff dealt with at USCIS stage, with the exception in the case of I-864s needing proof of USC or LPR status; this isn't even applicable to the OP because she's a K1.

I was all stalkery and saw that the person Miss Jess was referring to went through Dublin. Pay no attention to other consulates! Do what London wants. London doesn't need BCs, passports, divorce decrees, notes from the teacher, etc etc.

Edit to add in response to KaiserD: yes, it should have triggered an RFE back in the US, and should not have been handled at the consulate stage. Either someone messed up at the service center, or someone's being an idiot in Dublin and readjudicating at the DOS stage.

Thank you for making me feel better guys :) my boy is sending me the original so if we do run into problems, at least it is on its way. As my signature says, forewarned is forearmed :)

I think this is proof that, although I have been all calm and collected the past 2 days, my inner stress monster was just gagging to get out!! Time for a cup of tea I think...

Thank you for the good wishes :) cross your fingers!!!

You're going to be just fine. 99% of everyone going through London can't believe they were so worried about the interview after they complete it.

True that! I was so nervous, staring so intently at the screen in the room waiting for my number to be called that I was compleatly oblivious to the tornadoand its weather effects going on outside! All for the man to not even bother looking at the folder full of evidence I brought with me, I don't think we talked for more than a couple of minuets

So yes, a very irrational fear indeed!

Oh man, I remember that tornado! We were living in Archway at the time and although we had no tornado, it was mighty windy up there that day. I remember another tornado back in, um, sometime in autumn 1993 when I was in Clerkenwell and it tore chimney pots off the roof!

Okay, sorry, totally OT. Yes, you will be fine. Bring your papers and your good self and some money. You'll be doing the happy dance of anticlimax soon. :)

All of my paperwork went through locally as photocopies. They were even #######-tastic photocopies because A. My trunk leaked and I didn't know it so my divorce papers got moldy...LOL. (Shows how done I was with that relationhip...divorce papers were in the trunk for over a year), B. I filed my divorce myself, so needless to say it was a mess. ;)

We haven't had a problem at all.
