I am getting the application package together to apply for my fiance's K1 visa and have a couple of questions.

1) I understand that I am to submit a copy of my US birth certificate. I do not have the original document, but I do have several "true copies", complete with the county seal. Do I need to send one of these more official copies, or can I just photocopy the "true copy" that I have?

2) On the G-325A, it asks for "City and Country of Birth" for me and my parents. It seems odd to just put "Sacramento, USA" but that is what it says. Should I do that or say "Sacramento, CA, USA" ?

Thanks so much!!

You can photocopy your birth certificate, in fact I think it's better for do that for the application package. And for the city and country of birth for your parents, I would put the city, state and country. I did that.

My USC fiancee just did the city and country, though he did protest that there are "a million Farmingtons!" I made him fill it out as per the sheet, though.

I had the same question on my G325A. They received my I-129F package on 6/1/10 and just cashed the check today 6/8/10. I made a copy of my birth certificate. On G325A I put City, State, USA. I agree, that is very odd not to put the state, so I put the state on mine. Hope that helps.
