I agree with you Amber..."impatiently patiently" waiting...ughhh!! Nevertheless, hang in there everyone, I do feel like we are all soooo close...

I was wondering though, if I should have my husband start getting his police cert (in Nigeria it expires after 3 months)...or should we wait until NOA2 approval? I'm just afraid that it will expire before we hear anything, then we would have to get another. :unsure:

I am no expert either. My husband is from Kenya and he sent in his requests for his NOA2 but has not received it yet. Although, his is valid for 6 months. I was also wondering if that was too early. Good luck to everyone hope we all start getting our NOA 2's soon! :star:

Tina, I think Chennai U.S consulate is an exception. They take a validity of 6 months for PCC. But I think rest of the Indian Consulate takes 1 year validity. Loto

Three weeks to go it looks like matbe less because when you study the table at the USCIS time table charts, you see a whole lot reciepts filed mrch and April than suddenly it drops down very low for May and April,,,so I'm guessing in a none expert way that it will be speeding up and catching up with us. I waited until I got my NOA2 to tell my hubby to go get the police clearance cert. The reason is because it still takes another 10 to 14 days before the NVC assigns a case number and also because in Nigeria, it's only valid for 3 months. Don't worry; unless he's lived in multiple places for more than 6 months (I think?), it's very straightforward and quick to get.

Thanks a bunch Debby...that is what I thought. I will have him start on his birth certificate and get maybe 1 or 2 extras just in case. Everything for my end on the I-864 is ready and waiting. :)

Indian PCC are valid for 1 year from the date of issue. You need to get one from Local Police Authority, you can get this from the Commisioner's office in your district. Also, you need to get the PCC from Local Passport Office. I got mine in March 2010, hopefully my VISA process gets over by march 2011, else need to start the process of PCC again :unsure:
