Indian PCC are valid for 1 year from the date of issue. You need to get one from Local Police Authority, you can get this from the Commisioner's office in your district. Also, you need to get the PCC from Local Passport Office. I got mine in March 2010, hopefully my VISA process gets over by march 2011, else need to start the process of PCC again :unsure:

I think Chennai U.S consulate is an exception. They take a validity of 6 months for PCC. But I think rest of the Indian Consulate takes 1 year validity.

Oh!! I was going by their website.. http://chennai.usconsulate.gov/immigrantstous/glossary-of-iv-documents-and-terms.html#PCC . I though that they would be sticking to the information provided on the Counsulate website. If they opt to change then i need to apply for a new PCC, which ofcourse is a PAIN :( !! What do you think!? Should i wait for my NOA2(GOD knows when tht'll happen) & then guage if i will need a new PCC!?

Yes, wait until NOA2 before applying another PCC.

By no means am I over the moon excited by this latest development.... meaning I am not ready to celebrate , but we did have a touch on our case on 10/06/10... it has been months since we have seen any kind of action. :blink: So in the spirit of share and share alike I thought it necessary to post here. Maybe I am being too cautious about it all but I just am not ready to run out into the streets screaming and cheering... YET! LOL :hehe: I do have to state loud and clear.... Work and more work. I didn't even realized that today was Friday until i was off work. I am really going crazy waiting for the darn NOA2. So much that I had a dream last night that I checked my status on the USCIS website ! :wacko: :wacko: :wacko:

It didn't show 07/09/2010 so I knew it was a dream. I even told myself in the dream that I was dreaming! I need a Sapporo and some chicken wings now. Go Giants!

Dang, they got lucky. Sucks that we all have to wait while the USCIS knocks out K-1's like McDonalds knock out Big Macs to people. My only complaint is that we the married ones have to wait much longer then the unmarried ones. I don't see the logic in that. But I guess that's how they roll.
