Timeline

This isn't the same as New Orleans. These are sand berms, approximately 100 miles of them, placed offshore to stop oil getting into the wetlands. These are "in emergency only" measures as they will disrupt the flow of water into and out of the wetlands while they are in place. Their sole purpose is to beach the oil where it can be dealt with, rather than letting it into the multitude of waterways in the LA wetlands. As soon as the oil spill is gone, so are the sand berms.

And placing them needs Federal permits, of which Jindal has 6 out of the 30 he needs. Politics Daily link

Jindal should give Obama the finger and the rest of the Federal idiots and do what needs to get done. It's what I would do. Screw enviromental rules, ** idiocy when there's a disaster at hand that needs to be taken care of.

Deal with them in court later. Do what needs to get done now. THAT is leadership.
