hey guys. well, we struck out again trying to call the USCIS. They still would not help us put in a service request. It was the same response as last time - they said CSC only lists standard processing time for employment-based adjustments, and since there was no standard time indicated for other types (such as k-1/family based) they could not determine if we were beyond the processing time.

i'm so frustrated. :(

question for the folks who successfully put in a service request - did they ask you what type of visa you were adjusting from? And who called, the applicant or the spouse? thanks!

Well when we called we just asked for it. The lady on the phone asked for my wife to state her name and that I could talk to them. Then she filed the request. Don't know if it's going to do anything but we did get a few touches since we requested it.

Hello everyone!

I am absolutely furious with the uscis. I have been trying to put in a service request for 3 times already and no luck. On all occasions I have spoken with a different person and they all keep on telling me that California Service center does not have a current timeline for family based applicants, they only have a 4 month timeline for employment based cases. Basically I could be waiting for my green card for the next 10 years since there is no timeline.

Some people over there should be fired because they are not doing their job. I made an infopass appointment for next week and hopefully I will get some news. Calling uscis is totally a waste of my time.

Happy thanksgiving!

I am getting frustrated as well. I know that technically with AP and EAD I really don't need my GC, (especially since I will be home with a new baby for the next several months), but since Naturalization date is based on when you get the GC, it is affecting how long I have to wait for that. And not to mention....I just want to be done with immigration for awhile. I will still have to deal with getting my baby her Canadian and maybe her british proof of citizenship, so a bit more to deal with than just the US!! It is especially frustrating to see people who have applied in Sept and gone through CSC, getting their green cards already. Although I am happy for them that they had a smooth process...it pi$$e$ me off that there are so many of us stuck in a pile somewhere not having anything done on our cases.

I got tired of calling USCIS info line and listening to the same story over and over again "your case is within processing time and the system is not allowing me to put a service request for you". So this morning I scheduled my infopass appointment for this afternoon and was able to ask a person there what is going on with my case.

A representative was a person of "not many words" but what is the most important thing she put in a service request in their system.

Now I can just hope something will move forward within next 2 weeks (according to her I should hear back from USCIS within 2 business weeks).
