I FINALLY got my EAD card in the mail today :thumbs: It has a validity date on it of Aug 9, so it has been over 2 months that I have been approved....so I have missed out on 2 months of income :angry:

Colleens, if I were you I would ask EI to take that into consideration ... ask them for an antedate. It's really not your fault at all that the card took forever to get to you; hopefully they understand!

Hey everyone! I've been MIA lately due to being busy with work but I'm happy to report that today we had our interview and we were APPROVED! It only took about 15 minutes and it turns out we didn't even need a co-sponsor! The IO only asked us 2 questions: how and when we met. I'm so happy to have all the immigration ####### behind us for a while ... I can't wait to get the green card in my hands! Good luck to everyone with upcoming interviews/waiting for CSC :)

Colleens, if I were you I would ask EI to take that into consideration ... ask them for an antedate. It's really not your fault at all that the card took forever to get to you; hopefully they understand!

I will call them on Monday and see what if they can do anything. My maternity benefits start tomorrow, so hopefully at least they may be able to waive the 2 week waiting period. I am just looking forward to having some money being deposited into my account for a change.....and buying some more baby stuff :)

We had the AOS interview on Tuesday. It went very fast. The interview lasted 5 to 10 minutes.

The person had all the paperwork we had sent from the beginning in a folder. We showed our passports and my EAD. She asked me my name, address, birth date, my current activity. Then she asked how we met, and how was the wedding. Matt explained that this process makes it non-romantic, we got married in June but we want to do a ceremony in June 2011 in Kentucky / Ohio with his family, and another in June 2012 in France. She was very understanding. She then said I should receive the green card in 3 to 4 weeks. And voilà, I had prepared evidence in addition, copies of all that has been sent since the beginning, but it was not asked.

If you've been married for two years at the time of your interview you would get a 10 year green card. Ours is an IR6 and it's 10 years.

I looked up IR6 as well and I found out that IR6 = class of admission for (Immediate Relative), so spouse in this case, of a USC through AOS. It is an unconditional 10 year green card that does not require a renewal at the 2 year mark. The "CR6" category Green Card requires the 2 year removal of conditions.
