hey all hope evryones cases are progressing or atleast will be soon! our interview is on aug 11 any advice on what we should be collecting to take to it right now? does anyone have a nice simple list of documents that are good to take with us. Also, will we have to fill out a new affidavit of support to take to the interview or the copy of the one we sent with the AOS should be sufficient? Not much has changed for us in that since my husband still has no EAD.

Another concern i have is that we have no bills together since we live with my parents right now....once my husband gets proper work authorization he can work and we can get our own place. Besides a notarized letter from my parents stating we live at their house, what other documents can we give to show proof? Even his cell phone is prepaid so theres no bill and Tmobile didnt let me add his name to my bill because he has no credit history. I feel we may not have much documents to show will that be a problem?

any advice, suggestions etc will be helpful! thanks in advance

How are you getting on with your list..

We have our interview on the 20th August and have got the following so far:

All USCIS letters and copies of the forms we submitted

Marriage Certificate

Birth Certificates for both of us (originals and copies if they want them)

Birth certificates for my 2 sons even though they are not on the application as too old (originals and copies)

Divorce originals for both of us (both previously married)

Letter from Bank saying we have a joint account (they only put one name on statement)

Power bills in joint names

Medical insurance cards as I am on the policy now

Car insurance in both names

Wedding invitations etc (wedding was held at Robins parents house)

Copy of receipts for flights for my Mum and eldest son to attend wedding

Postcard from my Mums vacation in Europe addressed to both of us (Love from Mum at the end!!)

Wedding and reception photos in album

Congratulations cards from wedding guests

Another album of photos of our times together (clearly see different seasons)

Letter from music director of Robin church saying how she knows us as a couple

Robins pay slips and letter confirming position and salary

Copies of previous 3 year tax returns for Robin

Certificate and photo of 2nd place in pie baking contest at church (evidence that we have a life outside of USCIS paperwork!!)

I think thats about all of it from memory.

I just got off the phone with a USCIS representative and she confirmed that what was sent to us in the mail is an RFE.

She said that we will receive it within 15 days. If we don't, we can call USCIS to request a duplicate one. We have to submit the RFE reply before the deadline, or else it could result in the AOS denial.

She, also, said that she can't tell me what the RFE is about...we have to wait until we receive the letter to know...

Hi guys,

I am a F1 visa student. I am filling my I-130 and I485 concurrently.

On the I-485, Part 2: Application type(check one), I selected the first option: "An immigrant petition giving an immediate available immigrant visa number........available visa number, if approved).

I am not sure what I filled in the I-485 was correct or not. Please help me verify it. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Our Biometrics are listed wrong in the post above-- they were today, actually.

Also, Aug 2 we received an email that our case is being transferred to CSC. Quite surprising because we're up for a 10 year GC so we're nearly 100% sure we'll need to have an interview... so I won't be shocked if we get put back to Cincinnati in a couple of weeks. But if not, hey, great!

Don't worry about the starting date. Most likely, you'll receive your EAD by them!

Worst case senario, just talk to your supervisor about your situation and they may be work things out for you

I wish it were that easy ... unfortunately, it's with an airline and I need not only the EAD but also the AP. It's a situation -- I wouldn't have applied for it if it wasn't such a one in a blue moon opportunity. I'm still in disbelief it worked out for me!

I'm going to try to expedite the process if possible and I think I may contact our congressman ... I hate to bother them but at the same time I'm not feeling so hopeful considering our case hasn't even been touched since 06/28

They touched us (AOS) again today!

We hope that this means they are working on the case and maybe we will get the approval soon...but, knowing USCIS, who knows.

So far it looks like they don't do anything with the EAD and AP. Our local office is so slow.
