RFE.... Well, I just received a letter today, dated 070710, that USCIS need the latest (2010) income tax of the petitioner/sponsor. When I check my duplicate AOS file, I found out that it was not included. Damn it!! :bonk::bonk:

So I need to send ASAP, which mean it will delay the process. But the good thing about it, it is in the process, and USCIS is handling the case properlu.

I have noticed that the USCIS website where you check the case status, is still under "Initial Review."

Oh well, I have send the RFEs documents tomorrow for them to have it early next week.

Have a great weekend guys!! :P;)

Nancy, I don't have any advice for you, I just want to say that I feel for you guys and I agree, the system is screwed up!

Hopefully you can sort something out. Maybe an International License?

I do agree. I don't know how they dared to tell him to check EVERY month in the next 18 months!! That must be too stressful :(

Nancy, I think if you start a separate topic about it, you'll find deatiled answers.

Good luck with everything! (F)

You can apply for and get your social security card right away, we applied for ours the day after she arrived in the States. Banking info was not required whatsoever, just her Passport and Entry Visa.

We went the next day I arrived to the US too..we were told we have to wait at least 2 weeks to apply for my SSN.

We applied for it on May 4th and nothing in the mail as of it.... We called and went to the office many times, we always hear: "No updates.".. I'm just sick of waiting for it.

That's interesting, according to vj guides you're right, but somehow, perhaps in small towns like we applied, they're a bit forgiving. As a matter of fact they provided us a letter indicating that the applicant has applied for a social security card.

So Hubby called USCIS on Friday about his middle initial being put as a S. instead of a M. on his EAD NOA1. The M. is the first initial for his first middle name in his series of middle names. He has three middle names and their initials go M.S.A. on all the other documents we have. We were puzzled why USCIS chose the second middle name initial of S. instead of the first middle name initial of M.

Anyways he called and clarified with them about his full name to make sure it was going to be correct on the EAD. The man on the other line said that there was a standard procedure of questioning he had to go through and it would take about 20 minutes on the telephone. Hubby spent the time answering his questions and then the man said that he would submit the information and if we didn't hear from them in 45 days to call back. He also told my husband to still go to the biometrics appointment next week no matter what.

Just thought I'd let you all know encase any of you had an EAD discrepancy like we did.

We got the RFE because somehow we missed the second page in the Affidavit of Support...:huh:

The letter came on Monday and we sent the second page on Tuesday. On Friday we were in East Hartford on the Biometrics Appointment. People there don't look like somebody who would aloud the walk in, so we made a proper choice with the waiting. :jest::energy::goofy:

They touched us on July 9, the same day when we were there, which means, I suppose, that they put my fingerprints in the system.:dancing:

Now, we are waiting on the next step... :clock::reading:
