I just got our biometrics letter in the mail today, wasn't even expecting it this soon, got biometrics appointment for (July 26) Is this normal?

Seems awfully fast having filed/mailed June 18th.

I have yet to receive my biometrics appointment letter ... fingers crossed it comes tomorrow!

yes it is normal. as a matter fact, do not wait for that date you will just be slowing your application. do a walk in anyday before that.it will be even faster for your interview letter to come.

Receiving the biometrics letter a few days after you receive the hardcopy of the NOA1 in the mail seems normal. Having a biometrics appointments 20 days away from receiving the letter, seems fast. However, fast is better than slow, right?

Reading your timeline and other June Filers' timelines, I think we should receive our biometrics letter any day now. We will try to do a walk-in to speed up the process as well.

Hi everyone! Lots of updates, which I will definitely get around to today. I've been sick and just getting back to work after the holiday as well. No updates on John's cases, aside from a touch on the EAD on 7/2/10 and the AOS on 7/1/10. "See" you guys soon

Basically, my AOS application date is after you 1 day and I have not received the Biometric letter yet. I am from F1 also so look like we are on the same case. Hopefully there is no problem with our applications and we will get that Biometrics letter soon.

It seems like a lot of people who filed after me already received their biometrics :( Can you fill in your timeline??

Thank you! This is all really helpful information. I am so tired of my job that I wish getting the EAD would be an overnight gig. Anyway, am going to send in the EAD app today. If it doesn't hurt to send it, and it's free- then why not.

I totally understand how you feel...

You'll lose nothing by applying EAD so you definitely should!

Sometimes I wonder why I am not applying for Australian Immigration.... Just received 7 texts and 7 emails from our ever efficient uscis that they have received my form I-797. Had to look that one up, since I never did send that one in. Nothing on the seven forms that I actually did send in. I am just going to hope it is bureacracy at it's best and keep my spirits up.

The I-797 is the Notice of Action (NOA). That's the receipt showing that you've submitted the forms.

You should be getting the hard copy in a couple of days

Thank you! I checked the USCIS website and it said I 797 was for an employment visa of some sort. After checking the e-mail, not the text, it made more sense. Yeah! I have a case number!!!!

It's been a week since the last time I visited this thread. I already got our biometrics schedule last Monday

@Cleocatra, I knew that you'll get your NOA1 that day.

@Beth and John, congrats on the successful biometrics and we hope that you are feeling better now

@kabhatti, we have the same biometrics schedule but I think I will going to have mine done on the 22nd.

I some questions guys.

1. I came here on K3. When can I apply for SSN? after I receive my GC?

2. What is INFOPASS? Do I need to have this if I will walk-in?

We got our biometrics letter yesterday for July 15th at 1pm. Can he just do a walk in appointment before then?

Also on his work authorization NOA I noticed they put his middle initial as S instead of M. He has three middle names and on all the ID's and applications so far it's been M. as the one that shows up.

So does this make a difference or do we need to notify them to correct it?
