Hi everyone! Im just new to this site..I've noticed that this site is very helpful so i decided to joined... I filed my I-485 and I-765 Last March 20, 2010 and they received March 29, 2010.. got my biometric done.. then last May 25, 2010 i received a letter from USCIS saying that my petition for I-485 has been approved. So, that was a good news! Then this morning i received a text alert to my cellphone from USCIS saying that my I-765 was denied!! so its a bad news! I was reviewing my I-765 copy and i think everything is ok, i did filled up correctlly.. my question is, what is the most reason of having denied EAD??? it says to the text/email that i need to wait for 15 days to get their letter and the reason of why i get denied..is there any way that i can be approved? do i need to set an infopass to talk to the officer regarding my case???? because i want to work, i've been home for almost 5 months now and i want to help my husband financially...any one pls help....

If your I-485 was approved, you should be getting your green card in the mail soon and will no longer need an EAD.

No need for the EAD as your primary goal was to get a GC which allows you to work anyways... you'll be ok

You should be fine. In this case (K-1) EAD is just a temporary work authorization while you are waiting for your green card. Having your green card makes you a legal permanent resident and allows you to work, travel, etc. :star:

Ok... I got my SSN before i filed my AOS, now in my SSN card there's a note saying that " VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION" what will i do, do i need to get a new SSN/renew my card???

It took almost 2 1/2 months for me to get approved..bcoz i sent march 19 they received march 29 biometric done last april 21..and then touched may AOS May 04 then wait.. then finally last May 25 i got a letter from USCIS dated May 20 saying that my petition has been approved.. Congratulations welcome to the United States... Thanks God!!! But im still waiting for my GC......

In your case maybe u will get ur biometric last week of june or first week of july its seems like they will schedule the biometric 3 weeks after they received ur AOS... All u have to do for now is of course pray that everything will be OK, wait and be patient ...ok..

Thanks alot guys for all the info....GOD Bless us all!!

You can update SSN at SSA office with your greencard (if you receive it) in order to issue you a new one that will not have that notation.

In order to work legally, you'll need a SSN (which you already have) and an EAD or a Green Card. Most likely you will have the Green Card in the mail soon. Then you can work, not earlier.

You don't need a new card. "Valid only with DHS authorization" is fine, as both, the EAD or the Green Card, ARE the DHS authorization. If you like, you can get a new SS car without the restriction eventually, but you don't have to.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.
