I use fitday.com to add up my calories. I did really well. I always get hungry at night though so I had my frozen yogurt.

I do my walking at work and listen to my iPod usually, but forgot it today and had to talk to a boring coworker for half an hour

Dear Diary,

Day 3 of my weight loss program. Gave away all my chocolates to my Dad. Then I took one back. It's an Aero. I am staring at the lovely bubbles. Shhhhh. Can you hear them? They are calling my name. Resistance is futile.

One chocolate is a treat. As long as you can't get back to the box, then I would call it a success!

Depends on how big the Aero bar is...

Aero is all air :)

Talked to the dr today regarding weight loss for the middle aged and cranky. His first thought, split the meals and eat six times a day instead of three so, that is plan a.

Oh, and snacks to be predominantly protein. Cheese and yogurt good, cake and cookies bad.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Well, I missed on the exercise yesterday. But I rode the bike into work today, so that's a two-fer - one workout on the way in, and one on the way home. No way to get home without the workout!

Nik's got a job interview today just before lunch time. I offered to plan to go out afterwards, but he doesn't want to - I think because if it doesn't go well he'd rather go straight home and play some shoot-em-up game instead of having a celebratory lunch turn consoling...So I guess it's good for the diet at least.

K-1:

no need to give 5 year olds cookies.

I'm with you Alan, the thing about going on a big exercise kick, is that if you stop it, with the possible exception of weight lifting, you are sure to gain back more than you lost. It's been proven many times over. Same goes for cutting out a bunch of food all of a sudden, your body thinks there's a famine going on, and uses less, stores more. Not the desired result. Best to slowly decrease intake, gradually add more moving about. Doesn't feel as satisfying as the 'Will be healthy starting Monday' approach, but works much better in the long run.

Alternatives include falling in love, having your heart broken, joining the army, having your entire country endure rationing or drought or calamity.

I disagree. Usually if I stop after a 2 months exercise kick I drop weight.. because my muscles disappear. An exercise kick is exactly what some people need to start realizing they should take better care of themselves and get some good habits started

Our VisaJourney started July 2009 when I mailed the 129-F

Fiance here February 2010, married 10 days later

GC received in the mail 10-Jun-2010

Exercise is a building block of good health - without giving all your muscles a regular work out, they will cease to function at a capacity that is useful to a healthy lifestyle. Some people are lucky, their work gives them all the exercise they need, but most of modern society is stuck in a position of having to make a special effort to get the exercise that they need. There are tricks you can use to add in a lot more exercise in your normal day if you really don't want to join a gym or do something specifically determined 'exercise' if you so desire, but to think it's a good idea to not get your body moving frequently is a mistake.

I'm not saying don't excercise or don't be active. I'm saying build it up slowly. Don't go from sitting in the office, followed by sitting in the car, followed by sitting on the couch, to a spinning class. It's not good for you. Build up slowly is all I'm saying.

Ohh.. spinning class... :girlwerewolf2xn: Yeah...I wouldn't wish that on anybody.

MODERATE exercise is what I'm trying to get into the habit of doing. I'm aiming for hard enough that I can't hold a conversation, but not so bad that I get chest pains or dizzy. :dead:

Not that I do it, but even walking can be mild-moderate and at least it's an excuse to get away from the desk. I have a reminder set in Outlook to go walk up and down the stairs twice a day... doesn't always happen!
