Does your mom have a two-year conditional green card, or does she have a ten-year permanent green card?

It makes a difference. If she has a two-year conditional green card, I believe that she can remain outside of the U.S. for up to six months. If she has a ten-year permanent green card, I believer she can remain outside of the U.S. for a much longer period of time.

I'm sure that other VJ members will chime in with better information for you.
