Me too. It's comforting to know you're not alone in all of this, especially when it seems so hard for other people NOT in this process to understand. I've started thinking of my friends as "civilians"!

Seriously, the average person in the US has NO CLUE what legal immigration takes. When I first announced my engagement, everyone was askign "So when's he coming over? When's the wedding?" and I would have to explain again and again and again that we had no clue because it all depended on USCIS and the State Department. People were shocked. They were even more shocked when I told them what it cost.

I do this continuously. I haven't the foggiest idea when. All I do know is that "WHEN" will be as soon as I have that silly but priceless piece of paper in my hand stating that he is allowed to come home.

I know.

My MIl is a teacher and wanted me to help out at the school with a few things. When someone mentioned that I needed a background check, she was like "oh she's BEEN checked. She's had medicals, injections, criminal record checks, FBI checks, everything!" No one said anything again.

What for?

I don't know yet. The online notice doesn't say. I don't know what it could be for. I checked that package again and again.

Could be something tiny like a missing signature or a missing copy of something. Worst case, they'll need a few more pieces of evidence like letters/photos/receipts.

Don't panic too much, these things are always settled quickly.

Thanks Gemmie. I am just so nervous about it. I know most people get it taken care of quickly but sometimes people get really delayed. I just read the whole RFE thread again and it seems like most people get them for relationship evidence. I know I put that in. Hmmm.

Trying to stay positive though. It's hard.

Sorry to hear that! Hopefully it is something little that can be quickly fixed and you'll move right along.

I was just looking through one of the other regional forums and they also have a pinned medical thread. Someone has painstakingly described the details of the TWO day medical exam that is required by the embassy, and for women at least, consists of a full internal exam. Perhaps having a peek down below isn't so bad after all!!
