I just sent our I 130 with a copy of our marriage certificate and translation...was I supposed to send the original??

All of the things sent to NVC are supposed to be sent to the Embassy. If they don't return them at the end of the interview (and after you ask them to do so)....well, I suppose you have to get new ones.

Did you send a copy of the Arabic marriage certificate?

I sent the Eglish translation of it but did not have the Arabic version here and did not include it.....They told me to send the Original to be safe and they mailed it back to me when we got a case closed at USCIS. Maybe you will be ok if you had a copy of the ARABIC writing marriage certificate with stamps...we had English translation with the stamps saying Deed of Marriage...etc.

We had to send the original everything....the marriage cert. is the egyptian one and translation attached and signed by the embassy..Tamer got extra copies when we married (thank goodness). He wanted each of us to have one on us for whatever the reason. I sent my original and he has his with him. He also got extra copies of birth cert. and things when he was in Cairo before my last vacation (april) to see him. We only sent a copy of his military papers (got the RFE for it),they are have that original too.

I sent copies of the arabic version, and translation. I have the originals, but when I was putting the package together, the guideline said "copies of marriage cert. and translation" but my husband thinks I needed to send originals. I guess I'll have to wait and see. Wish I would have just sent the original just in case...

I didn't send originals with the I-130 and got approved. The originals go to NVC (as stated above). You will be happy that you waited to send the originals to the NVC, because then you have everything closer to ready to go.
