since youur hubby is the primary and she is not then he can remove the ex from the account or, he can ask her to go remove it herself. Its not hard to do. If he wants then he can transfer the money from old account to your new one.

At first there were only 2 people in your marriage, then you thought you found out there was a 3rd the ex-wife, now you have ALL of VJ (thousand's) up in your marraige. Be carefull on how you present this new-found of information to your husband.

Good Luck..

My divorces (yes plural, don't ask) went smoothly. Shared a lawyer, agreed on everything. Next we filed our own paperwork, agreed on everything. As far as life changing events go...no drama, no mess. In reality, separating in this manner if highly unusual as most are drawn out messy events.

Even though those divorces were quite cordial, there is no way in H#LL I would ever leave an ex-wife on a bank checking/saving account.

There could be circumstances like the checking account is tied to another loan account at the bank in which both parties are still liable.

Good luck.
