Guys, what do you think in this situation of Our marriage, still wondering WHY until now the X-of My Husband still on HIS account in the BANK,and everytime that I ask Him(Husband) can't be deleted/erase in the record because that is the policy in the Bank..they divorced 2005..and they are joined on it.

And My question is Is that really the policy or regulation in the bank here???once your wife is in the secondary of the account you can't easily delete her name??I am the legal wife now so I have a right to ask about it!

PLS HELP...

We tried to open a new account and I am the primary on these new Bank now and He is the secondary..but all the money is there (original bank account).

Of course she can be removed from that joint account. All is needed is for her to go to the bank branch office and tell the clerk she wants to be removed from the account. You can also go there and have your name added to the account - bring your husband with you.

Your husband should just remove his name from that account and open another in his and your name...

^^^ I agree.

Your husband is weird. Why is he acting irrationally over such a small and reasonable request? It seems very strange to me. Good luck with that one.

Yeah why not just open up a new account and close out the other one? You can probably even get a free toaster by opening up a new account with a certain minimum balance..

At first there were only 2 people in your marriage, then you thought you found out there was a 3rd the ex-wife, now you have ALL of VJ (thousand's) up in your marraige. Be carefull on how you present this new-found of information to your husband.

Good Luck..

i remember this situation after my divorce. i could not remove the ex as she was a co-owner of the account. i had to close the account and reopen a new one.

it just sounds to me like he's been procrastinating opening a new one.

You can't remove the ex-wife out of the account unless you provide legal documents to the bank such as divorce paperwork, death certificate or court orders dissolving the account. Or if the ex-wife willingly removes herself out of the account (fat chance). Who knows, maybe the courts have ordered the account to be intact and the husband doesn't want to tell you. Your best bet is like the previous posts...open your own joint account.

My divorces (yes plural, don't ask) went smoothly. Shared a lawyer, agreed on everything. Next we filed our own paperwork, agreed on everything. As far as life changing events go...no drama, no mess. In reality, separating in this manner if highly unusual as most are drawn out messy events.

Even though those divorces were quite cordial, there is no way in H#LL I would ever leave an ex-wife on a bank checking/saving account.

There could be circumstances like the checking account is tied to another loan account at the bank in which both parties are still liable.

Good luck.

Adam

since youur hubby is the primary and she is not then he can remove the ex from the account or, he can ask her to go remove it herself. Its not hard to do. If he wants then he can transfer the money from old account to your new one.
