Suggestion about cheesecurds if they're hard to find.... get those "mozzarella" cheese string things and cut them into curd-sized pieces. lol

How about fries in a little white cup?

3467559595_65e384b667.jpg

Isn't that a New York Fries cup? Looks like their fries.

Ok I'm confused now, is Peameal bacon the same as back bacon if not then what is the difference between back bacon and regular bacon and what the hell is peameal bacon?

I'm just a wanderer in the desert winds...

GoGoGadget CheeseCurdsRuleTheWorld!

Now, if you find a place that does real poutine in Houston, I'm in!

I am the only person in this city that thinks queso is grotty. I'm normally a cheese fanatic, and queso in its place is OK (to dip nachos in), but people put it on everything! And they smother food with it! I gain weight just looking at the stuff. It annoys me to see my husband and stepson, both of whom are trying to lose weight, clean off a large bowl of queso between the two of them. I just want to smack them and explain how long it is going to take them to diet off THOSE calories. I'd prefer having grated cheddar on my nachos, but apparently that is not the done thing here.

Peameal bacon is an Eastern thing - it is backbacon rolled in cornmeal. I have no idea why it isn't called cornmeal bacon, but Easterners are strange. laughing.gif

Nah, I would assume it used to be rolled in peameal, until they realized cornmeal is more readily available and cheaper.

This is how I remember cheese curds, straight from the cheese factory. Nice and squeaky. They always looked so gross but tasted so good.

Wegmans sells some curds made in New York... they're great.

Ok I now know peameal bacon. Whats the difference between regular bacon, back bacon and canadian bacon? I hear all those terms and wow, I just thought bacon was just bacon (though heard of chocolate covered bacon too ewwwww).

Along cheese curds, I had them before from my old coworkers from Wisconsin who brought some back for us years back. My friends from Wisconsin are driving out here for a few days and asked me about cheese and that they should bring some. I should get them to bring me back some cheese curds then from there. Don't really remember though what it tastes like though...

All you ever needed to know about bacon...Wiki

Back bacon = canadian bacon. The difference between regular (what I know as 'side') bacon and back bacon is where they are cut from on the pig. Back bacon is much leaner and better for you. I have not yet seen actual back bacon here in Texas, it seems to be ham slices masquerading as back bacon. wacko.gif

Wegmans is great. They have an international food aisle where they sell aero bars (mint ones too), smarties, coffee crisps and all that good stuff. Wegmans also carries Tim Hortons coffee.
